Excuse my French but I'm really getting annoyed with colours not curing properly, it's only dark colours.
Can anyone suggest why this is? I've seen a few posts about 'looking for a wingman' but it's happening with others too.
I've changed a clients colour 3x now because of peeling. My prep and procedure is fine it's literally just not curing fully. Could it be my lamp? I use uv not led.
I'm worried as I've seen a few posts lately about this topic and I really do not have the time for this messing around over Christmas. Any help would be greatly appreciated X

I'm so hot was give me a big headache today, the little finger on the right hand didn't want to cure and the index finger on the left hand I use an LED lamp.

If it's only just become an issue, and you trust that you're good with painting thin layers, the bottles are legitimate gelish etc, I would definitely try new bulbs next.

It's driving me bonkers. Luckily I know my client well. I should have mentioned it's happening with the other girls I work with too. We've only just changed over to gelish but I'm confident I'm doing thin enough layers xx

I struggled at first but hang in there gelish is brilliant . I always buy off harmony ,gelish . I had a few colours that shrunk or really runny when new . But give a good shake . I do every other day and the colours I had shrinkage with no more shrink . Also structure gel is good to hold colours in place . Hope this helps also have you trained with gelish ? Because it was the best thing I did as it helps with trouble shooting x

Yes I trained with gelish through my college. I'm noticing it's only dark new colours it's happening with. Girl meets joy, you're so elf centred, looking for a wingman.
With this client I did it really thin and cured for longer as I already knew about the issue, it still happened. With my acrylic client I roughed them up more even used base coat, still happened.
I'll keep persevering but I'm worrying about losing clients and having to rectify things over Christmas when I'll be too busy.
I do have structure gel but only use it for clients that need the strength.
I'm going to purchase an led lamp and see if that solves it xx

I really don't know if i want to invest in the 18g at the moment though when I'm unsure on the brand X

Have you tried flash curing x from experience its best to always buy the lamp that goes with you're system . I know it is expensive and I have even used cheaper lamps . But once I did my training with gelish I realised that you need the lamp that is compatible as the curing time is what it says on the bottle . With cheaper lamps you alway think have you cured properly .
All systems have their problems in my opinion it's best sticking to one brand and working out the solutions . I know some other nail technician had a problem with looking for a wingman but I honestly haven't I just shake/ roll the bottle and paint thinly at first because it was new I flash cured but no need to now x

I haven't tried that but I'll give that a go thank you :) I've purchased a lamp too. I don't tend to roll either unless they're getting a bit thick so I'll try that too. Thanks so much for your help xx

I think with any brand darker colours can pose more problems. Thin coats always but definitely with darker colours.

I agree with looking for a wingman and your so elf centered. These 2 colours are the main two I have issues with, they need applying super super thin which is fine, but it does time a lot of extra time and focus to get a neat finish and I find on the second coat I sometimes accidentally just add that slight too much and it slightly wrinkles grrrrr. Out of my 105 colour it's only literally I think 5 which I dread people choosing lol x

Sounds like you need an LED lamp...since I got my Gelish LED I have had no problems xx

The newer dark Gelish colours are really highly pigmented so with your colour coats when you think it's thin enough, go even thinner!

I am using a gellux lamp with either gellux or OPI. Pale colours cure fine, it's the darks I'm having problems with. Applying super thin coats but it won't cure on the corners which is so frustrating! My lamp is brand new too so I don't know what to do!

I've just purchased the s professional led one from Sally's as I can't afford the gelish one right now. I hope I haven't made a bad choice [emoji85] I've never had issues with dark colours with shellac or gelicure it's just since we've used gelish. It's frustrating. I've had a lady message me saying hers has completely peeled off on a few and that wasn't a dark colour so I'm hoping the new lamp will resolve the issue xx

I tend to do that too Mandy lol so led lamp, roll the bottles, super duper thin coats. If that fails I'll bang my head off the wall [emoji16]

The process of gel polish curing is an exact science. For it to be fully cured you need to have a very specific range of UVA light for a very specific amount of time.

The only way to ensure a full and proper cure is to use the matching lamp for your system, and whilst I can understand it's expensive , think of the money you'll loose by just loosing one client?

If they spend €20 on their nails every 3 weeks for e.g that's. nearly €350 worth of business you've lost ... enough to justify the cost of the correct lamp :)

How did you get on with the new lamp? I saw that one in Sally's but couldn't find any reviews.

Just been to pick the lamp up... It's cheap & nasty for the price so I'll be returning it and buying the gelish one :/

Does anyone know how long Sally's take to reimburse you? X
