I'm in the process of going mobile. Not even half way there yet as my boring full time job gets in the way lol! When I eventually do how do I go about getting insurance? Who do I ring, what do I say? And roughly how much is it, would I pay monthly or all in one go and what does it cover? Sorry for all the questions I'm new to this so haven't a clue! X

Hi Hollie,

For information about insurance from the Guild of Beauty Therapists, you can ring one of our advisors on 0845 2177383.

I'm mobile in nails and I use ABT. Check out their website! Think it's £52 a month or similar x

Thank you, are you just qualified in nails? X

I got mine through RBS when i set up my business bank account. It cost me £255 (think it was an extra £30 to pay monthly) for the year but i'm covered for all sorts. From food in fridge (if it goes knackered) to stock in transit and cash left in the salon overnight.

I'm with Salon Gold and not to expensive either x

I'm with Salon Gold for lash extensions and I paid £47 for.the year, that seems ridiculously cheap compared to what yoi guys have said? I am now panicking I've done something wrong?!

I'm also with Salon Gold, have been with them for 5 years.. I always get a great service from them, at a super price with good cover.. Most of my friends who are in the industry of hair and beauty are also with them and find them really good also... give them a call I'm sure you'll find them as good as we all do

As I said I've been with them for 5 years and that seems ok to me that's about what I pay for my beauty cover. I know with some others you have to pay a membership fee along with the insurance but Salon Gold is just insurance that's why they are cheaper.

Another vote for Salon Gold. So far I cannot fault them. They have been brilliant.
I called them today to cahnge my policy from Nail to Beauty as I now offer spray tanning, They changed it no problem, no extra cost (except for £5 admin fee, which is fait enough as its all new paperwork) and they have literally JUST phoned me, that is at 5.30pm on a bank holiday weekend..just to ask if I have changed my business name as I was using a Nails name (Nails by Caroline) and as Ive changed to beauty, have I changed the name too. Which I have! Only last week..They called me as they didnt want me to get another £5 admin charge to change the name for the paperwork again...

How is THAT for customer service? Well impressed and ive only been with them since end of Feb!
xx

They email them to you...mine came instantly. (within a couple of hours,) even yesterday when I updated info, my new documents were emailed to me within 2 hours.
I'd give them a call and mention it, they should be able to re-email them
xx

£52 a month??? Is that right!?

Back when I gave massage and eyelashes a go, my insurance was I think about £70 for the year.

Now that I'm opening a salon I will soon be calling round again.
