Has anyone ever attempted a perm with braided hair (3-5 braids), to create loose waves? I have someone asking me about this and my concern is saturation. I'm wondering if anyone has attempted this and how it turned out? Thanks!

No, I haven’t done it and I agree with you about likely uneven saturation.
Theoretically, I suppose you’d put the perm solution straight onto the braids and process as normal but I suspect the resultant wave would only be very slight and probably missing in places.

I think a spiral perm onto unbraided hair would give a much better longer lasting result.

If you do decide to do it, make it clear that you won’t guarantee the results and have a colleague witness your conversation.

I haven't perm with braids, instead, I prefer to curl the braids with flexi rods in hot water.

This approach can work if you’re aiming for 3-5 braids to create a wavy look. However, if you're doing it on mini braids, you’ll need to consider additional factors such as even saturation, hair health, the curl results, as well as the length and thickness of the hair.Take a test before you started
