Goldwell Express Toner question

Hi, I would like to know if Goldwell express toners work on highlights only without changing the color of the base (pretty much a brown) a bit like wella toners such as T18 which doesn't have any effect on the darker shade?

I’m a Goldwell master Colorist and yes the express toners won’t change the base at all , in fact I hate to even call them toners because really they’re only going to give you a kiss of color so I only use them if my color is pretty much perfect and I want to add a little shine or enhance a tone . They’re also “assistant proof” if they end staying on longer then 5 minutes everything will be fine , but if you are actually trying to correct a tone or counteract warmth I would use something else .. because the express toners don’t have enough pigment to help you .

Not heard that expression before, but it sounds wonderful.
