Good things come in threes for disposable towel pioneer Easydry as the company celebrates being shortlisted in not just one, but three categories in the prestigious Green Awards in Ireland.
Founder and CEO Anne Butterly has been named one of the top nine Green Leaders for her contribution to protecting the environment, while the company has made the shortlist in the Green Technology and Small Organisation categories.
The Green Leader Award will celebrate the individual who has made the most significant contribution to tackling climate change and helped encourage others to do the same. Anne has dedicated the past decade, since inventing the first ever disposable, eco-friendly salon towel, to helping salons across the globe cut their water use. In the process she has massively reduced the industrys carbon footprint. Easydry has enabled salons to save millions of litres of water worldwide, a fact recognised last year when Anne was presented with two Platinum Awards for creating one of the most significant companies within her region over the previous 20 years.
A place in the finals of the Small Organisation category is recognition of Easydrys impeccable environmental practices that include using the most eco-friendly transport method and compostable packaging for everything it produces, right down to the recycled cardboard pallets, while the Innovation Award shortlist focuses on the new technologies Easydry has developed to extend its range. Last year, Easydry introduced WaterWeave, a patented technology that enhanced its multi award-winning towel, making it stronger, softer, more absorbent and even more eco-friendly. Now salons have more solutions available for what were once considered intractable problems and Easydry has been able to improve existing products
We have always put innovation and sustainability at the heart of what we do so that we can help other businesses protect the planet. But not at the expense of their client service, said Anne. Being eco-friendly must never be a compromise. Our customers are able to reduce their carbon footprint by using Easydry, but the most important benefit is that Easydry allows salons to improve client care by offering the softest, most hygienic disposable towel possible.
The Green Award finals are being held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Dublin on 10 April.
Until then...geek on!
