Hiya guys looking for some advice just starting out in hair extensions and looking for a rough price guide for full heads weaves/ micro links and bonded any help would be awesome thanks xx

You can go by what others in your area charge but when I do prices I think how much hairs and supplies costs and then how long it will take and how much my time costs and my profit on top to then work out the selling price of the service. Then I add VAT on top of that.

I never Thought ov time and vat ect excellent advice thanks heaps. Theirs no one local to me that offers mobile extensions the going rate in town seems to be 150 for full head weave which I thinks great going to be hard to make profit charging less than the competition I'm sooooo confused thanks tho

A weave only takes me like an hour to finish with cutting. So time wise I will charge less. But for me the hair itself would cost at least £130 for good quality weft so wouldn't charge £150.

Excellent thanks for the advice I don't want to be making next to nothing fierce competition this extension bizz x

Sorry to crash your post but I have just trained in hair extensions and I'm also starting out. Am I right in thinking that 200 bonds of good quality hair cost about £200? If so I will never make any profit. Please can someone give me some adviceon best hair and good prices

Hi I'm in the same position I haven't a clue what to charge when some salons are doing full heads for 200 I looked on hair planet they say aprox160 bonds for a full head of their delux aaaa hair their prices seem great but I've yet to try them how much do u reacon should be charged for time and service alone?

I was told for a full head between 180-200 bonds so if you use celeb elite or lush us then I would be making no profit! I don't understand as this girl in my area uses additional lengths extensions and charges £230 so she isn't making much profit at all.

Nah she can't be making much profit atall I'm great at weaves which is obviously more cost effective but their so popularly theirs salons all around me that are offering a full head for 150 seriously how can I compete with that It's crazy how much typically should I charge on-top of the price of hair for the service

Bond your own hair. It's the best way to get good quality hair that is affordable. You can get hair from
Cheap places for like next to nothing but it really isn't with it in the end when clients complain, don't come back and end up hating having extensions as the hair is so bad.

You need to make it worth your while! Think about long term, your clients are wearing there extensions for 4 months, every day... How much would they spend on a dress for one night! I have a salon and we specialise in hair extensions. I use connect, balmain (not often mind!) and great lengths (mostly) cold fusion. I charge for the cost of the hair and £300 for my time otherwise it's just not worth your while, all the time you put in before hand with consultations and match ups. Use the best hair you can get, and spend the time producing a great set, for your client it will be worth every penny and they will be a constant client for years!

Hi willow is it connect to hair u use been thinking of using their hair as they sell it I'n bulk does it last xx

The hair is amazing. And because you buy it in bundles you can get amazing blends. With some sets I blend about 5 different tones into the hair you would never know they were extensions! But amazing quality hair it's all Spanish remi. Don't go for the bounce wave as it is quite course though but I have been wearing it myself for 8 years x

Thannks willow will try them they do it at 3 different grades dont they would u stick to the 3 star grade x

Willow do you use their connecting system too? So you fusion bond it straight to her not pre bond?

You cant charge VAT on top of your prices if you are not VAT registered. You will have to include it as a total price.
I charge about £250 for a full head of pre bonded and the hair costs me on average £100 to £120 (inclusive of vat) for 8 packs depending were i get it from. but if i want realy good quality i pay extra for brands like Balmain or Remi Cachet but obviously i charge my client more. u only pay for wot u get xx

I trained in extensions almost 2 years ago now, sadly i didn do them for very long, i still fit my best friends for her regular and still really enjoy doing it.

When i was doing them mobile i didnt have a set price, i did the consultation, used colour rings from Lush'us Hair planet, and Buyhair.com once id matched The hair i would then use my mobile to go on the web sites and check stock availablility - at the time Lush us seemed to be out of stock alot so i could enver guarantee on a price unless id checed where could get the hair, i used to make around £120 for my time when i started + the cost of teh hair. I then started to notice clients having problems with the hair - despite fully explaining aftercare to them during the consultation and again during fitting they just were not doin it and using the right stuff, i then increased my prices and included an aftercare kit - i would advise this from the start to any one just starting out.

Im at college now doing hair dressing and hopefully once i have completed want to renew my extensions to be able to offer the service again - howeve rthis time i will be far stricter on my clientel, they will ahve to show me 110% commitment to there extensions or i wont do them, there are to many ppl who think oh yeh, quick fix to get long lush hair and dont realise the upkeep and maintenance is vital.

HI,

I price the hair up and then depending on how many bonds the client would be having and the length of time it would take me, i charge between 150 and 200 to fit the extensions, cut and style them. This price does not include aftercare, the client would pay for this on top of the quoted cost of the hair extensions.

Top tip, get on vista print and make an aftercare leaflet for your client. Be quite firm on how important aftercare is. In correct aftercare means matting or slippage. This way you can always fall back on your leaflet and if you have a we site get everything on there too make sure your covered. Extension insurance is £40 a yr it's worth investing in. Xx

What I meant was business tax. Otherwise my profits at the end of the financial year will not be what I anticipated if do not include this in the price.
