i have been looking at rusk hair colour, i saw they do pure pigment which you mix with colour and developer so i thought get a icm blue pig mix with 8.01/A and 10 or 20 vol would this be ok or would it make me really dark again? im not fussed if it makes me a really light brown

If you are blonde with an orange tone the blue will tone that down for you but if your very orange no toner in the world will change that. You will have to lift to a lighter shade.

Yes defo will have to lift to at least base 9 to accept a toner.
And when you do add a toner to blonde hair, be careful not to add a too strong ash, otherwise the color will just go dark again. Choose toners with a base 9 with platinum or silver tones.

thNkyou thats great and no its not a bright bright orange its a blondey orange thats why i have not been to bothered with walking around like this and actually suits me but just want it more normal now lol

I only use Wella & Schwarzkopf colors.
Wella Color Touch quasi and Color Fresh semi can be used as toners. Koleston is their permanent range.

Schwarzkopf Igora Royal permanent colors and Igora Vibrance quasi are excellent.
Its just personal choice really. Some hairdressers may think their rubbish, but is what I use and I think they are very good.

I have used DeepShine tint and found this also very good, but I have never seen their quasi range for sale in my area. I don't know if they make semi colors. I have seen their Rusk Scream colors available in my local Sally's. These are the very vibrant colors for bleached hair. Similar to Crazy Color.

yes rusk do do them there called demi deep shine lile a quasi basically but i have not seen them stocked near me either so am i best of going for a quasi?

Maybe your strand was very porous, When coloring very porous hair, you sometimes have to go a shade or two lighter to avoid it going too dark.
I can't recommend anything other than what I already use.
Sometimes its just trial and error. On the strand test that is. Not on the client.

Yes, I have experimented with all sorts of products on my own hair to.
My hair has been bleached, stripped, color erased, tinted all sorts of colors and even straightened. And this has taught me alot of what to expect from various products and what results they can achieve. Its one big learning curve.
Happy hairdressing. xx

I would use wella koleston. 30ml of 10/0, 10ml of 0/11 and 80ml of pastel or 3%. This should tone out any orange/yellow that you have. :) Colour fresh is great but it tends to grab to the hair like velcro! I dont rate it at all :/

i know ive enjoyed it been great fun :) i know i love colouring now .. and thankyou i will use that advice is the pastel the same as a normal 3% developer as ive got a rusk 3% or do i need the pastel one x

The pastel is 2% but tbh you can use 3% :) I tend to use 3% normally :)
