I'm training in balmain and the tutor is saying about 3/4 of an inch. So on the guide placing it at 1.5 on the scalp then applying the bond at 1... However on many videos or images (even balmain) they seem closer to the scalp. What's everyone's ideal distances?

hmm that does seem a bit too far from the scalp! in my course we were taught to leave almost 1 cm and leave a bit more if the client suffers from a sensitive scalp.i trained with belle extensions x

i was taught 1/2-1 cm from the scalp. don't go too close as it will cause tension and they will stick out x

Same. But I would never go too far out as they will be too far down and uncomfortable quicker which can also cost pulling.
