Im doing a festival!!!

Hi you all yes you read it right im going to be at my local festival doing nails etc!!! just been to claires acc today trying to get zany colours & loadsa stickeres for the kids, going to be doing enhancements too!! any ideas?? im hoping this will give me a client base as i hope to start up my biz the end of september has anyone ever done this kinda thing or am i completly mad???

Wow!!!!! need more info, what kind of festival? time, space, etc.? Maybe you could consider giving one free nail to peeps, if they love, they will come to you as a client, this would be easier that trying to sell a new set in a busy, excited atmosphere, better to use the opportunity to get clients for the future than to rush doing.....well, how many sets could you do in a day whilst answering everyone's questions as they pass your stand or have I got it wrong and the set-up will be easy to manage?????

Good idea hun sure you will be really busy but excellent idea of Fiona's doing just demos enhancements and hadning out your leaflets and cards and dont forget to tll them if you cant help you know a geek who can lol.

Thx for replying its my local festival im not quite sure whats there is as ive never actually been to this paricular one but im going with my mum who sells crytsals etc so it is over 3 days starting frid eve gotta be there 4 6.30 till 10 then sat & sun from 7 in the morning set up till late i think it shuts at 11 so its our choice how long we stay so ive bought a load of tips today too & my biz advisor said to do full sets & charge £18? plus to do shape & polish on peeps plus the kiddies stuff stickers etc? then hand out my cards but i like the idae of maybe doing one but do you think this will promote me enuf???

No offence ment Kate but even £18 for a complete set of nail enhancements...you may as well give them away. Even it you charge £25 at hte end of the day they ARE getting a full set of nail enhancements. How did your business advisor come to this fugure. I think a token 1 or 2 nails is a good idea and also great nail art fo rthe kids. But definately don'[t give it away!!

Would just be a little concerned about timing, how long does it take you to do a full set? If you do a pinkie for example, easy and quick, tends to look and last better than other fingers and perhaps some people who would NEVER consider enhancements (or paying for them) may have second thoughts or maybe just show their pinkie to someone who WOULD consider it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know its cheap but i gonna start the biz with opening offer of 25% off £30 which will be £22.50 i think the biz advisor just giong on this but should i do any sets or just keep em guessing with just putting 1 nail on appreciate your help on this 1 coz very new to all this sooo confused at mo!!!

Hi fiona scuze my ignorance yeah timing concerns me too im doing a full set 1.5-2hrs if i knew what a pinkie was phs i`d aggre with you!!! lol!! i think that the promoting thing is a better idea & giving them a discount when they book with me??? whatd you think & how much discount at that?

I personally would only do a couple of nails and if they like them as another geek said then offer them a discount if they book for a full set thre and then for a later date. Even by just having a couple on they will know wether or not they are going to like them, try doing a french on one nail and a natural finish on another, as not everyone is comfortable wearing a french finish

just a thought but i wear a tunic with my business name on, i personally think it looks professional especially as i am mobile. Have you considered this, maybe a coloured t-shirt matching yur stationary with yur logo on. Just a thought, first impressions count and all that...lol

Go for it - do one (or two) - don't charge - give discount voucher - what would be the point in getting a few clients (let's face it, how many you gonna be able to do over the 3 days?) if you are gonna be doing them under stressful conditions and getting less than you should for them???????????????????

Take your time, do a good job, try to make a bond with the person, you want clients for years not just a quick buck!

But......offer an express manicure....10 mins? (ish) £6 (ish) another 50p per diamante (1 min/cost 10p ish) I'm sure you could expand on this for wee ones etc,

Yeah, just type in nailtopia and the company should come up. I suppose you can always keep the ones from Claires as a bonus, kids parties for example or even school fairs!
