Hi everyone
Just used the Ink London kit for the first time last night. I love it!
The only problem I had was no matter how thin I applied each coat I got heat spikes with their LED lamp. Did anyone else have this problem?

Thank you in advance.

You mean you could feel your skin being burned during curing?
Are you sure you applied the polish just ever so slightly away from the side walls?
If you got gel polish on the skin it's natural that you'll get burned and you might see some lifting too.

You could have sensitive nail plate put the led lamp on . Place hand on the edge of lamp and after a few seconds place hand in lamp . You will be fine X this happens to me sometimes

I have used LED lamps before, and have never had this problem. It feels warmer than normal. I have attached some pics, hopefully you can see that my coats are not thick and there is no polish on the skin. I am feeling the heat spikes on the nail plate on every nail. I had to keep putting my hand in and out several times which didn't stop it completely. Absolutely love this brand, application was a dream and this colour is stunning, but I really don't want to cause any of my clients any damage or discomfort. xx
Thank you

Then perhaps you are allergic to it? Try it on some friends and family too before you start offering it to your clients and see if they have the same reaction.
If yes, it could just be a defective batch

Sorry but this is incorrect information as is your first reply

Heat spikes can occur for a great number of reasons but does not mean that she is allergic to it - though that may be a possibility there are much more likely reasons and it is not natural 'for the skin to burn '

Heat spike ( which is the correct term not 'burning ' ) can happen if product is applied to thick , if client has thin or , damaged or sensitive nail plates , wrong lamp for the product ect

In simple laymans terms it is a chemical reaction caused by the 'speeding ' up of the curing process .

But back to the posters question .If you are sure that you are not applying too thick and that your nails are not particularly sensitive or thin( point - if it is the 'wrong time of the month you can be extra sensitive to this ) then if it can also be UV cured can you try in a UV to see if you get the same reaction ?

Thank you, I will try and use a different lamp and use the INK London lamp on a friend to see what happens. This is the first I've experienced this and even placing the hand in and out helped a bit but I was still getting heat spikes not on the skin but on the nail plate. I am not sure if the link is working but I did link a picture of my nails, I might have to test this out a bit, I just wanted to know if anyone has experienced this with the INK London lamp as the moment you turn it on it seems quite warm. xx

I did look at the picture - there was only one - and from what i could tell I did think they were a little on the thick side . They look more like the thickness of extensions than just a gel polish over natural nails . I dont use the INk lamp sop cvant help with that but am sure someone will come along soon that has

Sorry I'm not yet familiar with every term in english, heat spike being one of them. I was just trying to describe it as best I could but thanks for the info!
She did say that she has no problems with other products though, how can it be that her nail plate reacts only to this?

I think the next few weeks I will have to test this and see how it goes to see if it is me or the lamp. Someone else on Facebook mentioned heats spikes with this lamp but there was no further information.
Here is another angle of my nails https://1drv.ms/i/s!AnZKg8kSBwUkg1aKZuqFV7_p_Xri

Anyway thanks guys xx
First time posting, I've always been a lurker x

Might be worth contacting INK regarding troubleshooting this? It could be your application or even a faulty lamp. I would contact them and get this sorted as you could damage your nail bed, instead of just "see what happens", I personally wouldn't take the risks.

I emailed them yesterday but just wanted to know in the mean time if anyone had experienced this, my concern is causing discomfort or damage.

Yeah, you've done completely right! Better to be safe than sorry! :)

Its no problem . Your English is MUCH better than my Greek ;-) and at least now you know the correct term x

It could be for the points I mentioned . Application too thick , nail plate thin ect .

Also you have to remember that the wavelength at which LED cures is much higher than UV so this can also contribute . It may well be possible of course that either the gel or the lamp may be faulty but other issues need to be eliminated first

Hi,
Did you test the lamp on anyone else? Interested to know if you still using the INK London system & lamp as I'm looking to make a purchase and was considering the INK London system.

Thanks
