This has spurred me to ask for help, on your seating position when doing your own nails.
I have tried various:
On a chair - get headache
Sitting on cushions on the floor - backache and cramp in thighs
On a stool (that I use when doing pedis on others) got really bad acid indigestion
Sitting on the stairs - don't even try this one :)

Any ideas/tips?

Good idea, but I am the worst client ever. Too much of a perfectionist. Which is why I trained in the first place.
it's just the position I struggle with. And a body older than my mind :)

This made me lol. I feel your pain, literally! I tried all of your positions yesterday except for the stairs. I don't think there is a position conducive to a comfortable self pedicure!

I'm now sporting some dodgy cake pop and wonky swarovski crystals doh!

I do mine in stages. Prep one day then apply the next.

Can I ask a possibly silly question.
I've had a client ask for shellac toes this week. My worry? I've only done fingers so far!
What do I do? Sit on the floor, towel down, rest their feet on a stool? Help!
