Hi, I have a client who has a build up of bleached highlights that we want to break up. I have recently been doing bleach with 7/17 wella koleston perfect 1:1.
The colour result is nice once it’s first done, but within a few weeks she says the lowlight is ‘warm and gingery’ any advice on what I could change it to as I’m worried using 7/1 would turn out kharki as It has no warmth for the deeper colour to grab. I have thought about toning but the initial colour is nice, so this would not really help? Would advising a ‘purple/silver’ shampoo be sufficient after care to keep the warmer tones at bay?
Thanks

Switch to colour touch and it should fade less.

If you're using Kp 7/17 for a lowlight it should be mixed with pastel developer which is 1:2.
I personally would be looking to use colour touch instead of kp as a lowlight on already bleached hair. Try 8/71 +6/71 +1.9% instead.

Ok great thanks, I had thought about changing to colour touch but I wasn’t sure as I thought colour touch continues to develop when left on for a long period of time where as KP has a ‘shut off’ time? I had Concerns of my first foils being in for roughly 90 mins after doing the full head foils and development time, I didn’t want them to continue to darken further than the target shade. Am I wrong in thinking that? (Hopefully I am!)
With the colour holding better I’m hoping the warm undertones will stay hidden!
Thanks

I've never experienced issues using it a low light even in full head highlights. If you're concerned use slightly less 6/71 in the first mix and then on your last 2 panels use a little more 6/71 to compensate.
