A woman I do manicures for brought her son to one of her appointments for advice. He was constantly biting his nails, often to the point that he was bleeding. When I saw his fingers I advised her to take him to the doctor (pus and redness around his cuticles on two fingers), and to pick up one of the many products designed to deter nail biters. She wound up purchasing "Stop it" anti-nail bite at the local drug store.
The product is effective - her son dislikes the taste and has stopped biting the nails it was applied to. The only problem is that he is apparently now being bullied by his friends for having shiny ("girly") nails. Are there any products available on the market in Canada that do the same thing with a matte finish?
