That is interesting, I wouldn't have dared to use the 'mettalics' over enhancements as a rule (if the finish isn't absolutely perfect it would stick out like a sore thumb)

How were they different ?

The times when I have used them it has been on a tip and overlay, I found (as did the lady who Minxed me at The Event) it difficult to get the Minx to go on smoothly over the apex without then puckering at the free edge. Even if it was only a tiny bit of puckering the then lifted fairly quickly. As I said earlier though I have had no problems with them over natural nails.

Hi,received my minx kit today as seen at The Event but i was looking through my kit and noticed theirs some clear ones in their what are these for? :|

The feedback I had from a client who had them over enhancements wasn't particularly positive in terms of longevity, whereas the thumb I did on me over natural nail lasted really well........ Interesting.

Just remember that clients never take responsibility for what they do to their nails or to their Minx!! :green:

I have worn Minx over my own enhancements for more than 3 weeks and only occasionally tidied up the free edge as the nails grew out (as I always do anyway even on unMInxed nails! And I am not easy on my hands and work with them constantly.

I actually have not found a difference between natural or enhanced nails for longevity.

Toes are another matter and in this situation Minx will stay on until they grow out I think. But then toes do not get the wear that fingernails do.

My Silver Lightening toes have been on for 7 weeks now and it's only because they are growing out that they need to come off....... I seriously am amazed at the longevity of them! Maybe I need to wear some myself over enhanced nails to see the longevity for myself?

Well I sure would. At least that way, you really do KNOW what kind of treatment they have had.

Just as an FYI .... you can bathe in ScrubFresh and it won't harm Minx. If you wear Minx your clients will be begging to be MInxed and you won't destroy them while you are working. Your nails stay looking gorgeous. You are always your own best advert.

Jo LO was interviewed on the radio here this week by a local identity and she was singing the praises of minx, I'm looking forward to trying it myself.

Here's a set I did on natural nails yesterday....

And the toes were done on Thursday......

Both sets look fantastic! Well done!

I have 2 bookings for minx for chrimbo:green:

YAY....need to get some on me now !

I have ordered my maxi minx kit today & the lamp in the kit has now changed, so it slightly more expensive!! Although the old lamp is what stopped me from buying the kit at the event, so I hope this one is better looking

Ive had a minx on my nagger finger since Saturday & its lasting well, I didnt have a glass file or a lamp, so I used a blow heater and snipped the excess with scissors and tucked underneath my free edge.

Ive had mixed opinions on pricing though, ranging from £15-£30.

Are you asking clients what they would pay? It will be mixed if so because they will want to get it as cheaply as possible. When I order my kit I will just say what my price will be to anyone who asks, they either take it or leave it.

No flower, because I have 6 sisters, I test everything out on them. I explained what they are, who wear them, what I am anticipating on charging & asked for their honest opinion. Ive had "yes I would definately pay £30 for them" "I would only pay £15 because they probably wouldnt last over a week".

I had one of my friends nearly pulled my finger off ... saying what on earth is that on your finger, its sooo shiney!!

I think you will find that the lamp from the event is the new one ! I had the old one which was black and have just sent it back today to exchange for the new one.

I showed all the minx to a friend and gave her no indication on price and she said she would be prepared to pay £40 for her toes if it lasted 4 weeks +.
Her reasoning behind that being that she pays £20 every two weeks for her nails to be done so £40 for 4 weeks would work out the same.

I am thinking that they should be priced similarly to gel toes or slightly higher maybe due to the high product cost.

Yes, it's as Cazbar says, the lamp at the Event is the new one. S2 got the new one, which is more expensive, before the Event. The lovely lady I spoke to in the Mini Sweet Shop told me they would be honouring the price for the duration of the Event, but would need to put it up afterwards.

I've done black and white polka dots on my toes today and they look fab. I will see if I can put a pic up later.

Yea, the new lamp is more expensive but the performance you get from the minx is far better so for us it was a logical switch.

I just wanted to pop in to suggest that you use the Minx interest to sell in your other services (i.e. a spa manicure or enhancment service) so that you are exposing them to your additional offerings for those non Minx days :)

I bought the Minx kit about 4 weeks ago, so has the lamp changed since then?

If its the black lamp, then yes we changed it. The black one we brought in as a way to keep costs down. Will it work? Totally. Long term we just needed a better performer so we had to revert to the more expensive version. TBH I wish we could simply do without the freaking lamps. We aren't a lamp warehouse, we sell nail products!!! None the less, I guess its a necessary evil  :)

Can I just say that I have the 'old' version of the UV lamp and it works with Minx just FINE. The new one is just more robust and has a dimmer which is cool and both those things make it more expensive. As you would expect really. However the other lamp works perfectly well just without some of the refinements.
