Hi

Im a mobile beauty therapist and thinking about offering fish pedicures to my clients to either set it up at my home for clients to come too or mobile and take it to them.
Has anyone looked into doing this? I have no idea where I would go to buy the equipment/tank and the fish? and also what to charge.

Thanks

If I were a fish, I'm not sure I'd be too happy being lugged about to different homes. Mind you, if I were a fish, I wouldn't eat at people's feet...

I agree!
I don't think it's right to keep moving them about!
In a fixed place yes, but I think the environmental changes could damage the fish!
Sometimes fish die coming back from the pet shop.
But doing it from home could be a better idea

A fish tank definitely isn't mobile (a tank and 50 litres of water is REALLY heavy) and it definitely wouldn't be good for the fish.

Sorry if that's not the answer you wanted hun. You would need to be able to set it up somewhere and have clients come to you

And, (don't laugh) but I keep fish and it isn't a straightforward hobby. To keep a tank hygenic and the fish healthy takes quite a bit of commitment and knowledge. You would need to do your research before offering this treatment so you know exactly what would be involved.

Agreed. I have fish in the salon and there is no way you could do it mobile. They need a large tank and the filtration system is hidden under the seat so you can't really see how big it is but there is a lot of stuff!! Also have had to move them once when I started a new salon and they don't like it. When they are moved they take a day or 2 to settle down there is no way you could transport then around they would get very stressed and most likely die. I have 4 tanks and I don't put clients in there back to back I switch round so the fish get a rest. You are talking a couple of grand for a tank and the fish are around £3-4 each. We have 700 fish all together so you do the maths.... Not very economical if they die of stress! Above poster is also right regarding care, you need to keep them a constant warm temperature and test the water daily, as well as feeding and cleaning them.
Don't forget that although this is a novelty style treatment, the fish are still living creatures and require care an attention. I you have then at home they require quite a bit of space too. There is just no way this would work mobile Hun I'm afraid xx
