Just a question for all mobile nail technician. Do you bring your own chair when you do mobile?

I don't and I wish I could...
my back suffers if they don't have a decent dining chair to sit on, but having said that... I carry around so much with me that it would be like a removals firm if I took anymore stuff :o

You do end up feeling a bit like a cart horse!

I take a stool and a table in the boot of the car wherever I go then if they don't have a kitchen/dining room table I've got it to use if I need to. Its surprising how many people don't have a table(where do they eat?). I didn't have a table and stool when first starting out but after doing a couple of awful sets balancing things on the setee or stooping to use a coffee table I thought enough's enough!

You really need to be sitting in a comfortable supportive position to keep your back straight etc or you'll really suffer later on.

Hi,

I'm with Sandi on this one. I don't take a chair as most people have one in their house :D , however, they aren't always comfy or suitable.

But like Sandi, I already carry so much stuff with me that I honestly couldn't carry a chair as well !

i have a portable table which is a chair aswell from REM. it also has 2 drawers in it which i store most of my bits in so its fab. everything all in one! def the best thing ive invested in! ive been to quite a few peoples houses who dont have tables or chairs so i would def recomend taking something!

Thanks everyone. The reason I ask this because last year when I went to do nails for my clients, I did not realise she hasn't got any chair at her place. Because she only live by herself and most of the time she's always out. So I end up sitting on the couch, which makes my back sore. So, everytime I do mobile I have to ask the client if they have chair which is sound funny but I have bad experience, never again!!!:irked:

I don't really need to pack up all my kit that often but I do take my own chair as I know it's the right height for me, it was only £12.99 from argos and I also have another for the client if they want to use it , if there own chair is not right they fidgit like mad, so it's just an alternative.

My table weighs a ton!!!! I hate carring it about, :irked: I have a friend who I do manicures for and when I go there I use her dining table to save me lugging the thing in and out ....there is definatley a market for lightweight tables and chairs if anyone fancies a bit of inventing!!!

im not too sure, they have a website, you should have a look. although it wasnt cheap, i think it was just over £100 But i feel its made my life so much easier since being mobile!

Hear, Hear !

I also take my own table with me, but like you, the thing is damn heavy ! Lovely table and wouldn't be without it, but it's a killer having to carry everything.

So yes, if there are any budding entrepreneurs out there, light weight tables, couches and chairs would be really nice.

Hi,

I'm so glad its not just me that feels like a pack horse! All those inventors out there, I need a portable, on wheels, trolly that I can use as a seat, table and everything else I sometimes need a shopping trolley:D !!!

My husband is a design engineer - perhaps I should have a word! I suffer from a bad back anyway, when I get home I always feel like I've been beaten up. Hopefully my clients feel pampered thought!!!!!!!:Scared:
