Not had a single reply from adult clubs and golf clubs... Must be the area.

Advertised on all the free places mentioned on here and still nothing yet. Just 1 through google and 2 through freeindex.

Will see what my mailshot brings.

Got a ladieswholatte meet in 2 weeks so looking forward to that.

Just gotta stay focused and not give up x

I sent my mailshot out on New Years Eve so they all would have been posted in the first week of Jan. I've had NOTHING.

I did a bulk SMS as well and NOTHING

I got a client through a Google Search that came for a make-up trial and I done myself as we never discussed a payment and she left and never got in touch so I gave an hour of my time for nothing - my bad! Then she did get in touch to tell me that she wasn't going to order any of the products I suggested but if she ever changed her mind, she'd call.

And breathe...

Have you tried direct Facebook messaging?

Find a club or group in your area and look at the list of members and send them a message about what you offer!

You can send about 20 per day before Facebook warns about spam. Works really well for us!

Nice one BB!

In fact, though, it was ME got approached by a local charity for a voucher etc. This was a direct e-mail with no Charity status attachments. But I looked the sender up on FB and there she was, totally kosha so I'm very happy to oblige and even offer them some free time. Sometimes business isn't all about making money....

Hay Lynne,

I have just had a wedding dress shop open near me and thinking of popping in for a chat, not sure how to go about it any pointers??

Hi everyone,
I am new to this. just wanted to say I love this thread - so inspirational

I am currently 20 and at the university of derby studying spa management and whilst studying have recently taken over a spa I used to work at v.run down (business wise) and gaining back rep. which went into liquidation. but kept the old name So I am trying to think of new ways to get out there.

We are situated in Orsett Hall Hotel in Essex, so rarely get passing trade. Our big problem is local people do not know we are here. I am taking all information here massive thank you!!

When we have been quiet Ive been getting the girls who work for me out in the local villages delivering leaflets through doors! girls love it as they arent bored sitting around doing nothing and are getting exercise. They wear their uniform so people see and ask!!

Any other tips would be appriciated

Some of you may already have heard of Lavish
Lavish - Spa gift vouchers for Spa days, beauty treatments and pamper days at over 300 uk spas
Tesco have recently added Lavish vouchers to their range of rewards, which, in essence, means that people can have free treatments at salons in exchange for their clubcard points.
So, sign up with Lavish, pay them 20% commission and advertise to your clients that they can exchange their tesco points for free treatments.
Works like a dream. I've recently increased my prices just a little bit to absorb the extra cost to Lavish.

Tesco.com - rewards - Unexpected error

Sounds very interesting Lynn, Ive tried to use the link you posted to find out more but couldnt get it to work on my phone. Could you explain where the money for you for the treatments comes from if they are using clubcard points to get a voucher??

Thankyou :)

It comes direct from Lavish. you submit the vouchers' codes onto the Lavish site and they credit you in a few days' time - minus the commission of either 15 or 20%, depending upon whether you're a regular or a premium customer.

Do you know if you have to have a salon or will they accept mobile businesses?

Interesting. Will look more into this. Lynne hope you don't mind me asking, did you put your price up just for the clients that come through this means or all your other clients too.

To everyone - I needed to anyway as I hadn't for well over a year and as we know anything that's imported has skyrocketed because of the exchange rate.

Ok so I have read through every post noting them down for the past 2 hours! Now 2 o'clock in the morning but so,e fantastic ideas!!

A new one I found

Sorry if it's already on here!

Is Yelp.co.uk

You can offer vouchers which will appear on the clients phone (app called yelp) which they can redeem when they check in with you.

This means clients can check in with you and it shows on your review! It's also a good way to get reviews as clients will already have the app on the phone in order to get the offer!

It's amazing! Try it!

Thanks for all the advice guys, your all amazing!! Xxxxx

Just wanted to say thank you for all the mentions for Lavish, and wonderful to hear that you are finding that its working well for your business.

I set up Lavish a couple of years ago with two aims in mind. To make it easier for people to give spa and beauty vouchers as gifts and to bring new clients to spas and salons in the. I am so proud to be working with close to 400 spa and beauty businesses in the UK. Our partners range from destination spas to high street salons which gives our customers a fantastic choice of places to spend their Lavish vouchers and a great range of services to spend them on from spa weekends and spa breaks to quick treatments at their local beauty rooms.

If you are looking for new ways of promoting your business we'd love to hear from you!

Thanks Miss Pink Lady. It's nice to put an 'almost' human face to a message! Lol - that means you now seem nice and approachable and hopefully communicative!

About to set my Lavish account up.... (and thanks to Lynne to for the tip!)

Thats fab - yes thanks Lynne for the mention and we look forward to seeing you on Lavish!

Nice lovely lady, I spoke to you earlier today when I returned your missed call (Ritzy)
Lynne gave the heads up so thanks again to her. Always recommending great ways to promote our businesses.

What about contacting hotels that do wedding packages and enquire about putting a leaflet in their wedding packs? It's something I'm going to try over the next week or so. I will get some leaflets printed about the wedding packages I offer and go from there. X

Brilliant thread, thanks for all the ideas
