Hi ladies I don't know if I'm in the right place, I am a hairdresser who wants nail extensions. I am clueless & wanted some advice as to what type are the best for staying on & not damaging my own nails. Many thanks x
It depends on your nails. If you have weak, brittle nails gels might not necessarily be the best option! If I were you I'd research salons in your area to find somewhere that might offer you both gel or acrylic extensions , maybe ask any friends if they can recommend anyone or anywhere? Then if you go in, any properly trained nail tech would be able to advise what system is best for your nails. If I were you I'd look for salons using well known brands such as CND or NSI so you don't end up at a salon that uses products that are unsafe and could damage your nails. A well trained tech will not cause any damage to your natural nail with no more than light buffing of the nail to prep it, and will tell you how to care for your nails to ensure you don't damage them! I have TINY hands! My L+P tutor even said my nails are smaller than her 10 year olds'!! So I feel your pain. I've had perfectly applied gel nails that have cost me £50 that have started coming off within the day, but also acrylics for £16 done with NSS products and efiles that have caused years of damage to my nails and cuticles; that's why I wanted to do a course in acrylics so I could have nice long lovely nails whilst strengthening and growing my own nails so that maybe eventually they'd be strong enough to be long on their own!! xThank you. I bite my nails so they are not great! I have had both gel & acrylic before years ago & neither stayed on very long. They both said I had really small nail beds as I have small hands so that was why
