Hi guys,

Been having kind of a problem with one client. She is a nail biter and has a very short nail bed. I try to apply the tip in the middle just to have some structure. The two nails with the studs have pinged off as soon as she got back home I advised I apply the acrylic thick but she does not like them thick she want them thin and long which I strongly advised against with the nails she has.

I know I am not the best and just qualified 2 months ago. But this really disheartens and discourages me. Other clients dont have this problem. Please advise what to do and judging by the picture any constructive critisism is greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys

Tatjana

You need to do lots more cuticle work in those, pushing back those over grown cuticles will reveal a good 2/3mm more of nail plate for extra adhesion.

Thick product is not stronger, so I agree with your client on that point, thinner is more flexible BUT only if structured correctly.

The product is too thick at the cuticle too, there is a visible ridge which should not be there. The product should appear to melt away not leave a ledge.

With regards to length, you know the extension should be no more than 1/3rd of the overall length, if that means she needs them shorter than she would like initially then explain why and how she can have them longer once they have grown enough to sustain the length. If she still doesn't agree, advise her all breakages must be paid for once she leaves and be sure to make a note of the discussion on her record card.

I have to agree with Trinity. I personally would have chosen to use nail forms. Who did you do your training with? Is this how they taught you to do them?

Hi Welshheart, I just did a Level 2 nail course with the college and have to do a private course for nail forms. The college does not offer that. Wanted to practice more with tip application before I start a course in applying nail forms. Thank you very much for your advise it is greatly appreciated.
