Target stores throughout the US will add colour cosmetics to complement the Lilly Pullitzer collection they are launching this Spring. It is the first time they have combined a designer collection with a colour cosmetic range and Jessica Carlson, a spokeswoman for Target explained, "With this offering, we are extending our style collaboration in a new way and doing color cosmetics with a partner known for its bright prints made perfect sense."
The colour cosmetic assortment will include nine shades of LOréals Colour Rich Designer Extraordinaire Lipstick and nine shades of Essie nail polish. The collection will land in Target's 1,801 stores and on target.com on April 19.
Essie vice president for marketing Essie US said that this collaboration was a first for the nail brand too. "Weve worked with Target for years and they are a great partner of ours, but weve never been involved in a designer collaboration, she said. Each nail polish will retail for $8.49 and colours will include Wheres My Chauffeur?, an opulent turquoise; Borrowed & Blue, a very pale light blue, and First Timer, a shade of apple green.
The beauty part of the collaboration should generate about $1.2 million at retail in its limited time on counter, according to industry sources.
Until then...geek on!
