In case you didn't know, nail polish is kind of a big deal these days. So big, in fact, that no normal human with a regular schedule would have time to pore over the billions of nail shades out there. But what happens if you really want the latest Chanel shade but you can't afford the Chanel price tag? Well, let me introduce you to SuperDuper.
There's a whole corner of the internet dedicated to tracking down 'beauty dupes'. These are less-expensive but comparable versions of high-end or discontinued products and now, SuperDuper is dedicated to doing this for nail polishes. Finding a more affordable version of your favourite designer shade is now only a free download and a few swipes away. Simply choose from the list of luxury brands and select the shade you're looking for and the app shows you the closest drugstore-brand match.
The team behind SuperDuper have done their research. Not only have they personally road-tested every polish they include on their site to make sure that once it's applied it really is comparable on real-life human nails, they've also checked the shades in multiple lights both artificial and natural.
Of course, if #TheDress taught us anything, it's that our eyes simply can't be trusted so, before launching every member of the team had to be in agreement about every shade. Right now the app has 138 drugstore shades that they consider dupes for 83 luxury-brand polishes, and theyre constantly working on adding more. It's a US-based app right now but it won't be long before it hits shores everywhere.
Until then...geek on!
