Hi girls just here doing my friends gel nails who has just had a baby two weeks ago. The tips dont seem to be sticking to her nails for some wierd reason tried one on myself and it was perfect. Would this be because of her hormones? And any tips on how i can get them to stick please .

Definately hormones .... Short of slightly ever so gently buffing the nail plate to remove shine prior to adding tips I dont know what to suggest ...

Hmm

Firstly do they fit ok, if she has flat nails and the tips are very curved perhaps they are popping off.

Secondly I always put glue on tip and free edge of nail so they bond together.

Have you thoroughly dehydrated her nails.

Hopefully someone else might have some other ideas for you xxxxxx

Thanks for the answer ladies. It worked out in the end i just have to hold the tips down for 3 to 4 mins each time with two fingers and then they didnt move but i tried one on myself it it working as normal straight on and stuck. Be interesting now to see will they liftxxxxxxxx

Were her hands cold?

Nail adhesive needs warmth to work (normal hand temperature is sufficient)

But if her hands/fingers are cold it takes longer to set ...

I always have this problem on my clients with cold hands. I prep the nail without scrubfreshing, then ask them to wash their hands for a couple of minutes in warm soapy water (to neutralise the cuticle away and warm their hands up)! I then scrubfresh and apply the tips as normal, and it seems to do the trick. With most people it's fine but it does seem to be the temperature, as Envy said.

I also find that putting a small amount of adhesive on the free edge of flat nails helps too.

xx
