Hi

I know this has probably been asked a gazillion times, but Ive been researching what feels like forever to start a course in nails (preferably acrylic) and have finally took the plunge.
Ive eventually narrowed it down to next step beauty and essential nails. Although I have been told that online courses aren't always necessarily the best option over actually sitting in a classroom with a real tutor, I have decided these courses would be best to suit me.
I would like to know peoples experiences who have done either of these courses or which one is maybe better than the other? If anyone has trained else where which they could recommend, would also be really helpful.

Thanks :)

It really depends how best you learn; do you learn better on your own by trial and error or do you need someone to guide you? If the former, go for EN, if not, then the latter option may be better suited for you.

I started learning with EN and although they do offer some online support, it is not the same as being with you guiding you along the way.

In my experience I wouldn't use next step beauty. I booked 3 courses with them and twice they cancelled all 3 and had to reschedule because not enough people booked the course. Customer service was poor too and wouldn't return my calls. Acrylic is a difficult one to master, I ended up spending double the amount because I redid my courses. But out of the two you have chosen I would go for essential nails. Also just be careful regarding insurance, not all will cover you unless you have actually taken part in practical training, I might be wrong but just worth a check :) xx

You can get insurance from the Guild if you train with EN.

Hi Gennalauren,
