I'm hoping you might be able to give me some advice, I'm gutted after my hairdresser has done my hair today. I hope you don't mind me posting, but I desperate for some professional advice. Sorry it's a long story. I wasn't sure where to post, so please move if it's in the wrong area.

In brief went my usual hairdressing for some highlights today and a new girl did them and the cut. I explained that I'd had a all over colour (dark brown) with a couple of bleached slices in the sides to lift the sides. It's been 4 months since this was done and I explained I wanted to have some highlights for a change to get out of a hair rut. I chose a honey colour and caramel and she got to work. When she rinsed the foils out she said that the colour hadn't taken very well, or as well as she'd expected. Anyway she washed, cut and blow dried my hair. She mentioned the colour not taking a further 3 or 4 times, but it ok so I paid any left.

At home I looked in the mirror which is in my well lit bathroom and I was gutted to find my hair wasn't highlighted evenly. Basically the colour has taken really well on my non-coloured toots (about 1.5inches) and at the bottom with a hug gap in the middle. The overall effect looks awful and I wished I'd never had it done. I've got 2 lines on the re-growth and it looks a complete mess. I went straight back to the salon and explained I wasn't happy. In the salon it's quite dark and it looked fine, until you're in daylight.

I saw the stylist and she doesn't work weekends and is back in Wednesday. I explained I'm really upset and need it sorting as soon as possible...I really don't want to go out looking like this. Anyway she said I could come back with another colourist tomorrow at 9, but this person will only have time to re-do with a stronger bleach (she used 9% last time) but will struggle to finish it and can only give it a quick blow dry. I've paid £96-50 today and am gutted. Has anyone any advice what to do, should I ask for a refund on the colouring? I'm happy to pay for the cut (which I love) but am nearly crying typing this. My hubby is away in the RAF and comes home on Weds after 4months away. I justed wanted to spoil myself and this has happened.

Thanks for taking the time to read my epic post. Hellie x

Can you speak to the salon manager? They are the person who can sort this properly for you. It IS fixable relatively easily. Please don't be upset as this can be rectified for you to look great on Wednesday xx

Thanks for your reply Persianista, I'm sure you can understand why I'm gutted. I look like a tiger, which really isn't a good look! Can it be fixed easily? They talked about doing the highlights again, but will this break the regrowth line up? It looks like someone's drawn it with a ruler. It such a lot of money and it was supposed to be a bit of pampering for me after looking after the children on my own for 4 months. I'm worried the other stylist is going to 'squeeze' me in, but to be told she won't have time to finish it properly and just give it a quick blow dry. What should I ask them to do apart from fix it? I mean what are my repair options? I'd like to know what they could do rather than them just doing what they think, if that makes sense.

I have replied but on the other post which has now been moved here!:)

hi, i agree with persianista you should speak to the salon manager, it can be easily fixed & really it baffles me how stylist let themselves make such silly mistakes when performing a quite basic treatment!:hug:x
