hi everyone

just a quick question i am qualified in micro ring extensions and micro ring weft extensions and i have always used silicone lined micro rings but had a few clients that have been elsewhere before coming to me that have had stick tip extensions put in using copper tubes??

I like the look of these copper tubes as they lie really flat - are they silicone lined aswell or not ??? :) Has anyone used both and can you tell me which ones are more secure the silicone lined rings or the copper tubes ???

Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks xx

the silicone lined rings are to prevent slippage and protection for hair so i tend to always use those xx

I have used both and the tubes and some come silicone lined. The good thing about tube is you can really close them properly and get them really secure. I like the silicone lined ones and they do stay in but sometimes when taking out they are a pain if they have hot showers and the silicone and glue melts together a bit. The tubes can be really flat and I think shows a bit less I think as the silicone lined normal ones can be a bit bulky whereas the tubes can be flattened down more easily with tongs.

I have just had my micro ring extensions taken out and my hair is in awful condition (got micro rings as was told they were easier on hair, prior had prebonded keratin bonds, cinderella and balmain). I have alot of small lumps of what feels like glue still in! Person who fitted them says to keep washing hair and itll come out. Now reading your post and wondering if my hot showers have melted the silicon! As i wasnt aware the microrings had glue inside :-( is this right?

Hoping to get hair in again mid march, getting my hair cut and dyed on sat as since october just had t bar so my growth underneath is shocking!

Xx

The rings DO NOT have glue in them they have silicone this is easily brushed out if removed correctly xx

Its not out :-( still small amounts where the rings were. It was actually quite sore when brushing out during removal, so i was told to just wash and wash and itll come out as my head was hurting from constant brushing out (tugging!) of bits of silicone. Also when being brushed out appeared to me alot of my hair was coming with the tugging of the comb through the silicone, so no wonder it hurt.

I was a little confused as didnt understand why the silicone was still stuck to my hair so from reading above can only assume its melted in shower....

As i said thats why i had microring as was under impression it was better but day one of extensions out and im feeling pretty :-( as my hair seems thinner and shorter than it was before i had them in 3 months ago. I know it can feel like that as youget used to the thickness but each time I have had extensions removed my hair has been longer than before as its bene growing the whole time obviously. It genuinely is shorter - i checked against a photo of me week before i had the extensions put in. My wee face has been tripping me all day!! Lol!

Thanks though xx

Try smothering your hair in conditioner and leaving it to soak in, then comb through with a wide toothed comb, failing that get the person that fitted them back to have a look x

Awe thanks, I will do this! Sorry - just noticed i modified my post before you replied, I am terrible for modifying ! Ha ha!

Thanks for advice x

I have used all different types of rings and tubes over the years, it's good to have a variety to use circumference and length and also silicone lined and unlined. The tubes can be purchased as large as a 6mm circumference down to a 2.1mm circumference and length could be as long as 3mm to as short as 1.5 mm. I have purchased in bulk from overseas from different companies works out cheaper in the long run.
