I feel really silly asking this but its driving me crazy! My hair is sooo knotty and difficult to brush after ive washed it, its fine when its dry, but i dred washing my hair because it takes me so long to brush it and im aware hair is much more fragile when wet so im really carefull with it.
My hair is in pretty good contition, no split ends and feels really soft, so i just dont understand why my hair is like this! its pretty much always been like it, thanks!

Is it all one length? Ive found a few layers help mine if they get longer it tends to tangle up and I use detangling spray,Ive got something called all in one at the mo that acts as a detangler,in a red bottle from wholesalers:) but im sure there will be others on the market, theres those detangling brushes too that are good its hexangonal in shape, wholesalers again and i belive regis salons sell em too if your wholesaler dont stock em or theres always ebay!!! xxx

you should never brush out tangles on wet hair. Use a wide tooth combe when the conditioner is still on, rinse out the conditioner and then combe through. When removing tangles, always start from the bottom of the tangle and GENTLY combe, Never just yank the hair. See how you go x

When youve just washed it next take a small section (between 10 and 20 strands(and wrapping thumb and forefinger around in the mid section about an inch or so apart gently pull the hair.If it stretches and doesnt spring back then its in need of protein which is the natural hardener in hair.If its really tight and wont stretch then it needs moisture.
Sounds to me like it needs protein and a good protein reconstructor to build it up again.
We use a great range in our salon.Been using them for 16 years now and are fab!

What shampoo/conditioner do you use? How long is your hair and is it coloured? If so what colour and what is used on it?

I allways try to use nice shampoo/cond, atm im using joico which is lovely! i find it makes no difference even if im using cheap shampoo! it is colored, its a natural base 8/9 and i have hi lights about a 10 but quite heavily hi lighted so im fairly blonde :) oh and its in a long bob just past my shoulders.
im starting to think i just have difficult hair and need to try a good styling product! :D

Try Argan oil wen wet always detangles mine great! Also use a tangle teaser can't go wrong :) x

Do you ever use a conditioning masque/treatment? Argan oil is a good one and there are many variations, I use kitoko hair therapy oil as I find it gives the best results of the ones I have tried...from your routine you've explained, I can quite pinpoint the problem...but definitely give a leave in conditioner of some sort a go x

Wella System Professional Hydrate Shampoo and Repair Conditioner is a fab combination, my hair is heavily highlighted, is soooo shiny when dry, and a little tangly when wet. Always comb (wide) conditioner thorugh when you have applied it and put it up in a crocodile clip whilst having rest of your shower then it'll have a few mins to soak in, rinse and apply something like Paul Mitchell Awaphui and Wild Ginger Styling Treatment Oil, to hair when you have gently towel tryed your hair, then comb (wide) through. I really hope this helps xxx
