Hello Ladies,

I was talking to one of the mums at the local school about restarting in Nails - she mentioned that she had seen another tail tech when she was away on holiday ( cornwall) and that she had used a brand called Red carpet?

Has anyone ever heard of them ? or uses them ? Can you recommend at all ?

Thank you ! x

Yes have heard of them but Red carpet is not a pro brand . Anyone can buy it . If you are going to restart in nails then stick to the pro brands of which there are plenty of good ones around
x

Thank you !

Can you recommend one with a relativley good starter selection for someone like me? When I qualified - I purchased some of the CND Shellac polishes and lamp. ( spent a few hundred pound determined to do it properly !) and then could never get it right .. It didnt matter how much I tried and retried I jsut couldnt get it to last any longer than a couple of days on anyone !

is there any slightly cheaper kits I can aim for to get me started again ?
x

since you've already invested in the cnd lamp, i'd suggest stick to it. CND is a fab brand, although shellac is not meant for thin brittle weak nails.
Not to mention that, excluding the case of weak nails, whatever problems you had with cnd you are most probably going to have with other brands too. If I were you I'd ask myself if my procedure were wrong and how can I make it better, not just jump off to another brand, since it's not going to magically solve your problems.
By the way shellac barely lasts 3-7 days on weak nails, so don't batter yourself if that was the case. My nails are naturally weak and brittle and I can't have shellac, but there are ways to go around that.

If you still have the CND lamp why not spend some money doing some CND training and find out why it's not working for you? They do very reasonable priced training including 1 to 1.

Afraid I can't advise on other brands as I only use CND shellac but I know lots of other people on here use other brands and could probably recommend.

I was going to say the same thing. Try the CND Shellac course with Sweet Squared. Not expensive and their courses are fantastic. It will save you wasting your shellac products x

I have a few red carpet colours from salon services. They def need three coats and I use with another base and top coat but they always last me 3 weeks!!
