hi, I qualified last year but for various reasons I couldn't start working as a beauty therapist straight away, so I'm hoping in the next few months I can get back into it and work for myself like renting a room somewhere. Anyway my question is....I'm not qualified in gels and even if I was I can't afford to stock it (even though I'd like to offer it) would I make money just doing regular nail polish mani/pedis? any advice? I also would like to learn acrylics as its cheaper to stock but from what I've read on here not many of you have many clients that ask for acrylics nails, any advice would help really as i'm still a newbie thanx!

Acrylics are my most popular treatment! I think it varies on where you live and what the people around your area like x

I think acrylic extension are more popular than gel extension. Where I live not a lot of salons offer gel extension.

But gel polish is over taking normal polish with people being in such a rush to leave salon.

Normal polish where I work is a nightmare our salon get warm and it's making the polishes go funny and also the drying time seems to take forever to dry. And even when you think it's done it's not really.

I'd def go for gel and acrylic extensions there both so worth it xx
