Im finding more and more greys are not responding to colour!! Even a level 4.0 iv tried adding heat and doubling the times but still not 100% coverage. Anyone got any suggestions? (i use wella koleston)

Have you tried the double naturals? They are for resistant grey.
44/0, 55/0 etc

Have you tried pre softening the grey hair before tint application? Also after pre softening try using a shade darker than your target shade, and make sure you leave it in for the full 45mins, I'd also use the double numbers when covering grey :)

Try matrix extra coverage or even dream age, resistant grey was one reason I moved away from wella, all those moons ago and pre softening I'd just another added expense that very few people charge for x

I have to say I've not been at all impressed with grey coverage with Koleston lately, I so wish they stocked Matrix at my local Aston & fincher

my mum has very stubborn grey hair and when i was at college we trained with wella, the lecturer told me that i would have to pre soften the hair but i still didnt get 100% coverage - shes a 5
i use rusk on her now and the coverage is amazing

Definately switch to matrix!!! They have the 50 range for natural blending colours or dreamage which is a fab!!! My mum has 100% White hair and wanted it reddy so I put dreamage 6rb and 6% straight on 40 mins!!!! 1 colour, 1 happy mum to he'll with all those ratios now with this miracle fool proof product!!! Xxx

I use l'oreal supreme and find it covers better than wella.

i use igora and have never had a problem with covering grey, apart from a new client recently, she has a few grey round her hairline and they did not cover with neat tint or pre softening or with double base, her last stylist pulled them out..

so last visit i pre softened then neat tint then double bast tint.. thank god it is only round her hairline but it worked... some grey are just so suborn

good luck

Hi i have resistant hair myself which is v annoying as a professional, i currently use wella, im a base 6 which i like warm but it doesnt suit me too dark and 66/0 doesnt cover. Any suggestions for a nice matrix color of that depth?😃

A clarifying shampoo to strip any build up out first and a softening treatment with moisture works for me x

Thank u for all your replys, i will give pre softening a go see how it goes before i starts asking my boss to buy other makes!! Haha

You can fully cover pure white with dream age matrix up to base 9!!

i use xp 100 and the 00 range is great for grey resistant coverage.

Not being funny but what are you doing for dream age not to cover? X

What is up with Loreal colours not covering - they should be top of the game at making a 100% coverage colour even for resistant hair !! ( little rant )

Blue, i dont know, i use the matrix developer, i measure abd i leave for 45 mins like everyone said and its nt covered at all!! I feel my client is losing confidence in me! I felt loreal civered better bt i wanna stick with matrix! Im gna pre soften x
