Ridge around cuticle area after acrylics

Hi geeks, i am trained in l+p and do them very well, but i am finding when i do my own i am left with dints in my nail plate just near the cuticle. The only way to describe them is that they are usually where the 3rd sculpting zone ends and the dint is in a line all the way across the nail, this happens usually everytime i put them on... My nails are paperthin to start with so you can imagine the damage its causing.... Please help also i have been told it could be buffing but i dont over buff this area could it be anything else

If you're sure it isn't down to buffing, could it be that you are being over 'aggressive' with your prep?

When I first started I was heavy handed with my manicure tools on myself and as my nails grew out, I had dented rings at the base of my nails where I'd used the tools incorrectly.
