This is how I do rockstar nails and I found it the best and easiest way:
1- Base coat and cure.
2- Mix glitter with some drops of Top Coat or Simple Sheer on a saucer.
3- Take a little bit of that mix with a brush and paint the nail, then cure. (Repeat this step if needed.)
4- 1 or 2 coats of Simple Sheer and 1 Top coat, finish.

Because the glitter is mixed with colour;
a) It goes flat and level itself.
b) It's not rough after curing so doesn't need a lot of coats of gelish to make it smooth.
c) It can be applied in a thin layer so it's not patchy or thick, specially for french.
d) The glitter doesn't stick to the gelish brush on the next coat.
e) The glitter doesn't make a mess, spread everywhere or stick to the skin around nails and it's more controllable when doing french.
f) It looks glittery and sparkly not a foil look.

I attached two pictures, both front and side way. Let me know what you think! :wink2:

I am so inspired by this thread!! Gorgeous work xx

love love loving the neon glitters, and the fading looks fab, I've not had much luck with the neon glitters I've found them a tad dull, which make are these hun?

Hun thank you. These are the Martha Stewart neons. I picked the most 'neon' colours as some are disappointing once top coat is applied x

Look lovely! Iv not tried this method but will give it a try for glitter tips.
I pat into uncured colour layer, go over with my finger pressing glitter flat, cure, using an old gel brush I dust off any excess then 2 layers of top coat. I find it the quickest & easiest way & to be honest not using that many layers it's no different to remove in 3 weeks time xx

The Fingernail Fixer has a video where she makes a glitter paste (glitter and Topcoat). I tried this the other day to put a holographic gold glitter tip onto Blackpool Shellac.

It worked so much better than sprinkling glitter onto the tacky layer of a cured smile line. It cleaned up so much better too.

I will try your method for the whole nail now I have seen how nice it is to work with a paste. :)

This site is so amazing for swapping tips & tricks & different ideas!! Thanks guys!! Hugs xx
