Hey geeks.
Don't know if anyone can help me but I have a scar on my hand from where I had a fall on 1st feb and I've left it alone to see if it would go but it hasn't and I'm worried it's now permanent. Was just wondering if you knew of anything that would help it fade? I've been using bio oil but doesn't seem to be doing the trick . Any tips or remedies anyone has would be appreciated it you could tell me :) I've attached a pic to give you an idea of what it's like
Thanks in advance x

XTry Dermatix sheets (silicone) or gel. You can order in a pharmacy or ask your Dr for a prescription, it might be best to put it on at night with it being your hand it's tricky to keep on. You have to try and keep the silicone on the scar for longest period possible. Silicone can be used on closed skin.

Can you tell me a little bit about it? Is it raised at all? It looks still red. Was it a deep cut or more like an abrasion?

There are several successful professional treatments for scarring including medical needling, but it's quite a young scar. I would use the silicone initially and then perhaps try a natural oil such as a good base oil with a blend perhaps lavender/helichrysum/frankincense all of which are excellent for scarring.

The silicone gel is great and can be held onto the back of your hand using micropore tape

Not when you have to wash your hands all the time :-/

for something a bit more gentle you could try using Bio- Oil. Applied twice daily it can help reduce the appearance of the scar as well as make the skin feel a lot more smooth and subtle.

Hope that helps x

Do it at night when sleeping
You're not supposed to wear it 24/7 anyway.

Which was what I suggested, I think I misunderstood what you meant, I jumped to the conclusion that you meant keep it on all of the time with the micropore. Not sure why :)

Hi sorry for the late reply!
It was literally a graze but I think it got infected as the scanning was really raised and thick. Stupidly (probably why it's scared) I did pick it off because I had my best friends wedding to go to, it was healed underneath but obv hasn't done me any favours! I'll see if i can get hold if some of these gel things see if they help thanks :)

It will take a couple of months before you see a difference. 😏

If it is completely healed id recommend solar oil applied at least twice a day.
I had a burn on my leg which left a nasty scar. But after using solar oil on it for 2 months it has disappeared. I tried bio oil for absolutely ages and it did nothing for me at all 😔
Xx
