Well I did my spray tan course last week and have finally done my first proper practise.....on hubby I might add!

Just wondering how long it took you guys to feel confident in going out on clients for spray tans? Did you practise? How long for ? Or did you go straight out there?

I remember years ago in the salon it took a while to feel confident in the tanning lotion application...

Also am abit worried about the over spray...wouldn't want to make a mess in someone's house although it was fine today.

Any comments/tips appreciated please 😃😃

I did quite a few practise runs on hubby/friends and family before I felt confident but everyone's different. How do you feel your husbands tan came out? If it came out well and even and you have mastered your routine then do a few more practise runs and then go for it. As for overspray you will need to invest in an extractor fan eventually once you've built a client base especially for regular clients as tan does build up. Good luck!

Thank you for your advise. Well I will let you know tomorrow how hubby's tan is as I only did it today, hope it's ok although do you have probs with now that the evenings are drawing in and lighting if you are applying tan in the evenings??

Get some clip on lights for your tent to provide better lighting when spraying, have a look on daylight website or similar. I agree with above, invest in an extraction unit when you can afford one as overspray gets everywhere! I think practicing approx 10-15 tans you will be competent & confident to get on your way. Good luck x

Lighting can be a problem, you can get the clip on lights on EBay for a few pounds. Make sure you get yourself an extension lead too.

Yeh I just think it's only because it gets dark so early now and wouldn't want to leave any white bits!

On another note....does any of you do your spray tanning around your small children? I practised on hubby yesterday but my little one who is only 18 months was also in the kitchen where we done it and am just abit worried regarding her being around whilst I'm practising. Will be fine once I'm up and running as will go to peoples houses but just at the moment am worried with her breathing it in.

I wouldn't recommend having her around too much, the odd tan wouldn't hurt but not good for her little lungs to be breathing it in all the time. Make sure you have the room well ventilated when she's around. How was your hubby's tan?

Hi ya yeh that's what I thought too really. Need to practise but maybe go to people's houses to do that.
Yes his tan came out well although he washed his hands on same night as tan so they weren't quite as dark! You know what men are like, "it will be ok" they can't be told can they.
