I just wanted to inform you that the Great Scratch Shoot Out! 2008 entry form is now available

This is the annual nail photo competition run by Scratch magazine

there is no theme - you must just portray nails in a beautiful, interesting way

I shall hang all entries in a photo gallery adjacent to the Nailympics London event

the winner will be announced at the Nailympics awards ceremony 3.30pm on 19th May 2008

you can enter a 10 x 8 photograph or high resolution jpeg

Just had a thought...

anyone can enter the Great Scratch Shoot Out! 2008

entries from all over the world are welcomed!

If you win and can't make it to the ceremony

please let it be known on your entry form- if you can

we shall still award the winner at the Nailympics

but will send the prize on and contact the winner for a profile in Scratch

so don't be put off if you live in Australia, South Africa, Canada, Puerto Rico

etc

we would like to see as many diverse entries from around the world as possible

Do we not frame our own pictures then Alex?

It's not necassary to frame them as we mount them all together in a theme

such as coloured borders last year

foam mounts to sit off the wall the year before

it's best we get the entries all the same as photo prints or jpegs that we print off

it's also much cheaper for you to post!

Top Tips

- Keep it simple

- Get a great photographer

- Nails must be flawless

- Try and be original - in the end an image that's brilliant and not been seen before will pip another brilliant image at the post

- if you feel the urge to enter - don't miss the opportunity - it's worth a go

- Your clients will love the fact you've entered - they will encourage and support you

- You then have a beautiful image you've created for your salon wall

- It's always highly motivating to get creative and use your skills in a new direction

- All entries get displayed for industry recognition in a gallery at Olympia

- All entries get published in Scratch magazine

Out of interests, what are the prizes for this competition?

I am happy with the fact i will get a nice printed picture to hang on my wall, but my client asked me the other day what does the winner get?

I haven't got a clue, so thought i'd ask.
