Toe nail advice

Can any nail techs advise please? I have odd big toe nails, one is not a bad shape and nicely rounded, the other is flat and not a nice shape. I have had acrylic on them before but wondered if builder gel would work to shape the ugly nail to more match the other? Is this even possible? Or would it be better to stick to acrylic

I usually use acrylic, but builder gel will work as well. I prefer not to use the gel because I find it cumbersome to apply and cure.

As for filing and shaping, gel is definitely easier IMO.
