I have recently been looking at 3d nail art and would like to have a go myself.
I do not know how to apply acrylic nails but have experience with liquid sculpey and oil painting so feel i will be able to control the product effectively. :)

Can anyone break down for me the kit I would need? I would prefer to not use a UV lamp if I can.
I have read up a little and have got as far as knowing I make the flowers/3d bits and bobs using acrylic monomer and powders.
Will this kind need lamp curing or will it dry alone?

Can this be applied on real nails or over polish as well as on false nails/acrylics? (removal would be scary but i'm semi okay with that!)

I plan to buy my kit on ebay, i know there will be brands which suit me better out there but i would like to try this cheaply and see how i get along with it first. What has really caught my eye of late is aquarium nails, I am looking for something to seal the little gap where you put the water in.

Thank you in advance. :)

Welcome and sorry to rain on your parade Beckielou but you will probably not find many wanting to answer these questions on here until you have undergone some sort of training..

The best advice I can give you is to go and do a proper Nail Technicians course which will teach you all the basics you need to get you started. Using Monomer without any training could more than likely end up causing you and your " guinea Pig" friends and clients allergic reactions.

You can buy ready made little acrylic bows and nail art which can be used in the meantime.

Be careful when buying cheap products, they are usually cheap for a reason almost always because they are of sub standard quality or someone else wants to get rid of it. You will probably have to buy everything again because the first cheap kit has bombed out. A lot of training courses include the kit required or a student card will give you access to trade prices from reputable suppliers.

If I were you I would do a search on here just using the words e-bay and you will see that we do not look very kindly upon e-bay DIY'ers. Hope you decide to book on to a good course and enjoy doing nails the right way.

Please don't think that I am being mean, I really do mean this in the nicest way.
