I gained a new client last year who proved to be somewhat unreliable. After her first appointment she re-scheduled the second one hours before, cancelled the third, wasn't home on the forth as she "forgot" even though I text her a reminder that morning which she confirmed. The last time I saw her was in October so I'm happily thinking I'm rid of her.

On 24th March she text me asking for an appointment for a mani and pedi for her and her MIL for tomorrow. They must be going on holiday as this is what I did in October.

I text her a confirmation this morning, asking her to confirm and advise of any changes to treatment. I know it's still early, I haven't heard back yet. What should I do if I don't hear back? I've booked my mother in law to stay over tonight so she can babysit my eldest who is on school hols tomorrow.

Should I chance it and show up anyway? I hate doing this as I feel I lose face if she doesn't want the appointment anymore and I'm standing there like muggins.

I suppose I could send another text tomorrow morning before I head off and if I don't get a response, don't show up?

I only booked her in because I was thinking of the pound signs. If she'd just booked one treatment I probably would have ignored her.

I always think of the pound signs 😄 Could you phone her rather than text? If she didn't answer then I'd maybe send her a text asking her to confirm the appointment by 6pm (or whatever time would suit you) so that you could confirm your child care arrangements, or something along them lines!

I would text her again in the morning if not reply then don't go , people like that annoy me so much !! X

I think that's what I'll do.

I would tell her that she needs to confirm the appointments by texting back to you, otherwise the appointment is void. Be firm ! Good luck !

Just before you leave buy a small packet of cress seed. . Take some water. When she doesn't answer splash a small amount of water through the letterbox. .. open packet of cress and sprinkle through the letterbox. Smile as you walk off.

I can think of better things to put through the letter box ! How about petrol and a lighted match ! Sorry.. gone to far... :p

I had a client like this. I hadn't heard from her and thought I'd got rid. When she then called me to book I said 'I'm really sorry but on several occasions you've cancelled me with really short notice or none at all so I'm not keen to book you in in case you do it again' she was totally apologetic. If you say nothing they actually think it's okay!

Wow.. That's definetly a bit too far. Know ur joking and all but that isn't a very nice thing to say at all and certainly not something to joke about

The reality is 99.9% of people on this site probably wouldn't actually really burn someone's house down would they, just like Mobile Manicure putting cress through someone's letterbox? But...Yes it does happen just as an example like child abuse. .. and probably i'm the first one to say I hate kids and they should be left at the side of the road. .. but I wouldn't really do it... and I don't really hate them.

...........Dislike is probably more apt.

What? So now you're telling me NOT to do the cress and pour petrol through the letterbox? I'm confused. I've just been shopping, I'm all set.

But it is no longer needed. I received a response asking if I can do Tuesday instead. I responded that I couldn't, I'm fully booked this week and am away all next week. I received a response soon after asking me to come tomorrow as planned. And they've upgraded their treatments to include gel so I'll make even more money.

Now just watch her cancel tomorrow morning :wink2:

Ha ha. . No you carry on. ...I had a few sorry seconds of actually trying to diffuse a situation that could potential get out of control ..... but second thoughts, I'll just leave it for the fire!

As I was going to sainsburys, I thought I shouldn't have said that on the internet :o so sorry if I frightened anyone who doesn't know me very well.

Water cress idea might be more acceptable. Anyway it's good she's texted back, and she is being tamed by MM. I've got one like this, they are a real pain !

I could run amok with ideas but I know i have to behave ..... ..:wink2:

Honestly?

As you have the m-i-l all arranged I would go. She has made an appointment, you need to keep the higher ground and turn up. What if they're both there at the ready and she's just lost her mobile phone so hasn't got your text?

Last chance though.

After that I would be permanently booked up.

Update: she didn't cancel but she dropped one treatment while I was there at the last minute so instead of 2 Gelish manicures and 2 pedicures, she dropped one of the pedicures. Fine. I was knackered anyway as I'd been somewhere beforehand and had already done another pedicure. And I had to do another Gelish manicure at home for someone at 2pm. Was happy to have a lunch break.

She's re-booked me for the other pedi at a later date. Ugh. I'll never get rid.

When you do her treatment, can you get her to pay a deposit if shes books her next appointment with you at the time of seeing her ? If she won't then say she has to pay over the internet before her next appointment ? Is it worth a go ?

Winnie, I forgot all about this part: in a day or two she will text "two chips". Always happens. I will respond with "salt and vinegar with that?".

I don't flippin want her. I don't want her deposits. I also feel really uneasy in her house which I won't go into on a public forum.

I'm going to try and sack her after this next pedi which I hope she messes me around on so I'll have the perfect excuse.
