Using gel after straightening hair with flat iron.

My Question is, when i straighten my hair with the flat iron and I use hairgel after that the curls are there again.
I think its cause the gel makes them little bit wet.
So is it possible to use gel, and dont loose the straightening effect from the flat iron can you recommend good hairgels, or is it not possible with gel and i need something else ?

It is possible you just need the right stuff. Regular gel is too thin and wet.
It makes it easy for your hair to absorb the moisture.
The best stuff I ever used was Tigi hard head gel, but no idea if it's still available.
