Hello Geeks,

I'm doing a course in November for waxing, the person I'm going to train with offers the course at £150 or £210 with kit included, there's no picture or name of the make but I'm told the kit includes-

wax pot
wax
per lotion
after lotion
cleaner
strips and spatulas
aprox 30 clients

Does this sound like a good price for what I'd receive? I've asked about the sizing etc and she says it's fine for mobile, but I just wanted to check with you wise geeks if anyone knows or recommends a really waxing kit for starters and mobile use, I don't want to be investing in a massive pot thats not compatible lol

And whilst I'm here be nice to get some general feedback from geeks that do waxing as mobile? how do you find the set up etc, is there any more equipment i need to be getting? I'm just hair and tans at the moment so not up on the waxing…yet :)

Thanks in advance xxxx

I would never pay out any money weather it's a large or small sum and not know what it is I'm getting.
I would do more research and although you don't get a kit (as far as I'm aware) I would check out Kim Lawless the Wax Queen her course's are amazing. One thing I have learnt is do not do anything on the cheep or the quick way they never turn out to be, if it takes you another 6 mths to save and train then do it, what's another 6 mths when you could have many years as a happy successful waxer that clients will flock too because you have put the effort in. Good luck x

I would find out a little more hun. I'm not sure how someone could estimate how many clients a wax kit could do either unless they are averaging it on a particular treatment. Because it would vary if they were having eyebrows, legs, bikini, underarm lol

You will have to test a few waxes out too to find one you like. I personally use PR wax and it's fab and great for
Mobile as I have a 1000cc hive wax heater and you can sit the tin straight in to it and the tins have lids on, so no spillages :)

Good luck hun

I'm starting my waxing course with a local college next week which you get a vtct qualification the course was just under £500 and the kit which I think is just a starter one was around £70 x

I've worked with many waxes! I'm using PhD at the moment and I love it! Because its in tubes it doesn't spill about in the car (I've had many accidents with that too!) although it did take me a while to get used to the PhD system!

Sorry for my delay geeks. Ok thank you all, good advice as always :)

Well I've been put onto this trainer, I guess you never know in that respect how good someone is until you try them out?

As regards to the waxing kit I think I may research and find my own somewhere, but I really am clueless at this point...i have never heard of wax in tubes? But for mobile that sounds fantastic! If anyone can tell me what suppliers are good for this sort of kit and what size/heat temp wax pot i need to be looking for and the best waxes out there i'd be so grateful, im at my mum and dads tonight so i have a good computer to search on! lol

Thanks Geeks xx
