Hi i've read the tutorial etc etc, i know that this forum is probably 99% female which is why i have read through it, i have a couple of issues that i would love feedback/tips etc in order to help me.......

I'm 30 y/o male that suffers from a spotty back after waxing or using hair removal creams, i hate the fact that i have a hairy back and will do almost anything to try and keep it smooth. I have tried most creams and waxing treatments but always seem to get a rash and then spots after, they do go down after a couple of days but never fully disappear. I know that you have said that exfoliating is a good idea, but seriously have you ever tried doing you own back!! i'm really not that supple lol. My partner used to wax my back for me however we split and seeing as it's nigh on impossible to wax your own back i have resulted to hair removal cream.....yes again it is tricky and very messy....there are always bits that get missed. i know that someone will say get myself to a salon, but just feel little bit awkward being waxed by a stranger...yes i know it's the 21st century and all that!!

So any info tips etc would be great....i live in the nottingham area and would possibly go to a salon if anyone could recommend one in the area.

many thanks again :)

hi there, great tutorial.
i use strip wax. i have read on here about putting oil on before you wax?? im confuddled !!! i was taught to cleanse the skin only prior to waxing. any info would be great. im keen for any great waxing tiips and there are lots on here..thanksXX

What!!!! If you've just waxed their most intimate parts, i.e their inner labia, what's the difference of applying aftercare lotion? I teach my students to apply it quickly and firmly. xxx

Absolutely agree!!

I have my hands all over this area feeling for hair that I cannot see and every single client is thankful that I am so thorough.

This is not a treatment for the faint-hearted therapist and if your client is a bit faint-hearted it is again up to the therapist to reassure and inspire confidence.

Guys can I just comment on the no gloves/ intimate waxing!!!! NOoooo! U are putting ur health and ur clients at risk! Pls pls wear gloves when ur touching someone elses bits x

The whole gloves thing while doing specialist waxing and pedicures seems to be entirely personal to the therapist based on previous threads I have read/been involved with.

Hey
I don't mean to sound nasty but 'get yourself to a salon' ;) haha nah honestly after the first time you'll be fine. Just find someone you think seems professional, maybe go for a different treatment that isn't waxing and see how you feel until you find somewhere comfy for you. Sadly don't live in notts so can't advise you but a google search or speaking to women you know might help :) exfoliating your back is about the same difficulty as using hair removal cream, if not easier! good luck :)

Also girls, I think I saw somewhere 'light massage oil' for putting on the skin under warm/hot wax...would almond oil be classified as this???? I bruised a client a few weeks ago and felt so so bad and I'm a pretty good waxer but it was all new wax and pot and environment to me (started a new job) so was really nervous as she was my first client in for a bikini :(
I have lycon at home and am seriously struggling, have the pre wax oil and for some reason the last time i used it, put a blob on and tried my best to pull it off and only a tiny bit came off so had to pick at it for ages in tiny chunks, really really hurt :( 1 more question though...finished the job with my trusty honey strip wax and was sore for 2 days after?! have been shaving though so very coarse hair could this be why??

thanks, sorry for the essay ;)

I was taught not to use honey wax on the bikini line. Not sure it could be the shaving causing your problem but try a different wax next time and see how that feels.

I have now updated this tutorial. x

hi guys great tutorial. i have to admit the waxing is the treatment i dislike doing the most so any tips great.
i never seem to be happy with which ever warm wax i buy so any suggestions would be great.

you say oil on the skin?? so you are applying this before waxing? what oil do you use?
i lot of my clients are elderly so might be nice on the older skin.
any advice is great.

This is a great tutorial, well done Katelisa!

I've done hardly any waxing since I qualified and just received a booking for full leg, bikini and underarm! Stomach turning over in knots, I came straight on here and found your tutorial! Great stuff. Still nervous but definitely feeling knowledge refreshed! Cheers! :Scared:

Hi Neil, I'm in nottingham and use icon hair and beauty in the corner house... A lady called Emma does my Hollywood wax, and she is lovely . Don't be embarrassed she's seen it all before, tell her your concerned and embarrassed and I'm sure she will put you at ease and advise you. She is the best person iv had so far, knows what she's talking about too. But don't forget if you don't stick with a particular method of hair removal you'll never get the desired affect.

Good luck, get it booked!! Xx

Well done on a great tutorial...brilliant:)

I use honey wax for all bikini waxes and have never had a problem... I know many people don't recommend it but I find applying it thinly works a treat! I haven't heard of applying oil for intimate area's... can this be used under warm honey wax too? always good to find out new techniques!

Hi Kate found your tutorial very informative but wondered if you had any suggestions to the problem of in-growing hairs. I have a client who is fairly new at having her legs waxed but I'm finding she has a lot of in-growing hairs. I have advised her to exfoliate and moisturise which she says she is doing. Some one suggested she should shave in between waxing but I thought that would defeat the object of having waxing done. Could it be due to my waxing technique or the wax I'm using? Any feedback would be useful. Many Thanks
