next week im putting wella colour touch 4.57 on a client i did a test cut and it has come out purple? she normally uses a warm 3 but wants to start to lighten it up so i can only find the 4.57 at capital as a warm which is ment to be mahogony colour.
any one got any ideas on helping me?

tint wont lift tint so you will need to lighten the hair a shade before you apply the 4/57, i have no idea why it went purple, what is the clients hair colour at the momeent? did you mix it correctley? use cheap peroxide? x

its just root re-touch then refreash ends, so i know it wont do alot to the rest just the roots. but it has come out dark with really obvious purple tones! used the matching colour touch peroxide too.
really dont understand?

well that is strange... how long did you develop for? what did you use to mix the colour with maybe ring the wella helpline they are very helpfull :)

do u normaly use wella? can u recomend a warm 4?
i normally use loreal not wella? xx

yeah i use wella, havent got a colour touch shade chart to hand, but some nice warm 4's would be 4/77 or 4/75 is lovely x

Yea i agree I love both of those x

Both /5 And /7 have a violet tone in them, that's the only reason I can think. :/ it's odd to have done that on a warm colour too :/

With Wella tones isn't 5 purple and the second tone 7 brown, so will show more purple pigment?

The reason for the purple tint is because of the /5 which is mahogany made up of all or the warm tones so it shows off more of the purple tones because of warmth & the way it sits on the colour wheel. If this was me I would proceed with a cleansing bath to lift to the undercoat of a four. Then proceed with the 4/57 & 1.9% COlour Touch & for best results use the CT releaser. This happened to my client also & it worked perfect.
