Hello
what's the recommended application time for Wella Sunlights in /0 (natural), on untreated, mousy brown hair? She is looking to lift colour a level or so.
Just to doublecheck (I have not used this product before), is the proportion 1 part Sunlights to 2 parts Intensive Creme?
any other advice, tips, on this product appreciated!
thank you

CT Sunlights are fab! The recommeded time is 20 mins with heat. I would mix it as you said 1:2 with 4% CT intense. It will lift the clients hair 1-2 levels. Also I would put the CT on dry hair for more intesnse colour. :)

Other threads ive found for you. http://www.salongeek.com/hair-geek/58626-wella-sunlights.html

thank you - very helpful.

I'm using this on a client who's relocated from America. She had been using a product called Luminize by Clairol, since discontinued. This is a no ammonia, low perioxide treatment, gentle conditioning hair lightener, that broke the base to bring out natural undertones, lightened the hair a level or so. Came in 3 tonalities - neutral, red and ash, she used neutral. The peroxide developer was around 10 vol, 3 percent, her application was for 12 minutes. It does have a nice effect on her hair; good shine, no damage, even on fine hair; and the slight, subtle lightening helps the bit of gray blend in nicely.

The Wella Sunlights sounds similar to what she'd been using. I will strand test, and apply just to the (untreated roots).

She doesn't like heat appllcation - thinks it brings on migrines. So that part I will maybe avoid.

That sounds interesting! Never heard of the clariol brand tbh but with wella it would be same effect but you have more choice of tones, without heat the development time is 35 minutes , and yes strand test all the way! Good luck :D

thanks - as she is definite on avoiding roots as major issue, will need to keep an eye that it does not lighten too much - 2 levels would be her max, slightly less is preferable.

i think you will be fine, its doubtfull to lift 2 shades, i used it on my base 8 natural hair, and could barley tell i had used it. was pretty though :)

thanks - how long did you leave it on for? with heat or w/o?
This client is (natural) level 5.
Is there much of a danger with Sunlights that if I shorten the timing, apply for less than the 35 min w/o heat, that the color will be arrested in brassy-ville, before it makes it to blond?

that is the only experience of using it was when i used it on my own hair lol, i used an ash colour as i was worried about it going gold, it came out lovely i used heat for about 20 mins i think (was a while ago sorry) wasnt a big difference just subtle. is your client looking for a warm colour? id say do a test peice just so you arent worrying :)
