Hey geeks, I currently use schwarzkopf, I've got a client booked next week who's blonde and has been for years but has really dark roots (base 4!) she's sick of keeping up to the roots and wants to go dark, as much as I love schwarzkopf I just find that even when I pre-pig the colours don't hold. I've seen a few posts on here saying that you don't have to pre-pig with wella? Was thinking of using 4/73 without pre-pigging? Would the colour not fade within a week or two? Although she's been bleaching for so long I would say her hairs in quite good condition. Im going to strand test but advise would be much appreciated :) x

hi, i use wella, and would deffinatley say still pre pig! because you just never know, and will deffo get a nicer colour result with pre pigging. After pre pigging i would colour with colour touch :)

Pre pig! Please honest to god pre pig! I made the mistake of thinking I don't need to and bam! It's green aha, I went with 8/34 to get nice and ginger! Then whatever colour you want :)

If you choose not to pre-pig then it's perfectly normal to pre-pig within a tint mixture. Mix the desired shade & peroxide to the roots & then apply the desired shade in Colour Touch & between 6 to 10 gs of /34 depending on the base their going to & mixed all with 1.9%

So if the client wants a cool tone say 8/1 I would apply 8/1 in koleston perfect and then apply colour touch with 1.9% mixed with 6 mls to 10 mls
of /33?? Will colour turn out even and not khaki has I've chosen 8/1?

Would you apply roots and then put rest of colour on mid / ends straight away??
