I love talking about this sorta stuff!! I use a gorgeous range, but sadly it's only avail in Oz!! Its a aromatherapy range that has no unneccesary ingredients in it. SO sorry that didn't help hehe :p Good on u for using a night cream tho!! They do help. My mum's 50 and only has those little smile lines next to her eyes. As your appraoching 30, if you don't already, use a eye cream too. And only in the day as at night they irritate if they seep into your eye. Eye cream's great for smokers too, if u dap it around your lips. But to answer your question, try and be fussy out what goes onto your skin, and don't use supermarket crap!!! :) just my humble option anyways.

Try some professional brands. Go to salons and tell them your looking for a new product. Lots of beauty therapists will give you a free skin analysis an dyou can get samples. Lots of pro brands have reasonable prices and they're usually more concentrated so you less (apply them on damp skin so they spead better & use the littliest bit) so alot of the time they are actually more economical.
If you have a oily skin make sure you use a product designed for it or else you have breakouts.
Serums are good because they are absorbed easier and wont clog the follicles.
Off the top of my head I'd suggest Algologie they have a serum for mature oily skin & is quite reasonable but can't think of the name of the serum I haven't used Algologie for quite a while.
I have oily skin too & am getting close to the 30 mark. I use Arbre combination skin range & rebalancing serum but that serum's a bit dearer.
You wouldn't skimp on your nails so why your face,

I use an eye cream, clinique all about eyes. have used eye cream for a couple of years now and would not stop as I dont want crows feet lol. I used to use olay products but I think my skin got too used to them.

I just dont want to spend loads and then find its no good for me - anyone got any ideas of any websites where you can get free samples?

Pop into your local salons and ask for some. Or there are geeks on here that sell facial products try asking around for samples, i'm sure you'll probably get a few to try

Vitamin E range from the body shop ,,its brilliant

I'm all about professional products. You always get better results . I'd just go to all the beauty salons in your area and get as many different samples as possible. After all they're free and you can really find out what suits your skin. A product shouldn't stop being effective because your "skin gets used to them" it's more likely that they weren't suited in the first place or your skin changed ( it can happen alot with seasons, enviroment, age, hormones etc). With a good product that suits you should see ongoing results.

the problem is that beauty salons are few and far between here to be honest. Well I dont really know of any, apart from the one I got my nails done at and they were not too good so I dont think I wanna let them loose on my skin. Maybe next time I go to house of fraser I should not head straight for the clinique counter and have a look about instead lol.

That's bummer. Though some companies will send out samples direct and then you can order over the net. not to sure about which ones though. Or try ebay I think alot of therapists get in heaps of samples when they check out brands and then sell off the ones they don't use. I just think it's always best to try lots of things so you spend your money on something you love. I wouldn't rule out trying solar oil in the mean time though cause it's very light and absorbs well just becareful it's not to much. but oil is ok on oily skin if it's the right one. might try it myself to see what it's like

Why not drop Alison Young at QVC an email and if you can send her some pics of your skin, then she will advise you of what you can try, let her know your budget as well as she wont recommend something that you cant keep up with.

You can purchase it online from qvc, and you have the 30 day money back guarentee too so if you find after a couple of weeks that it isnt doing anything for you then you can send it back and get your money back too,

I have been using the Nimue skincare range for several weeks now and I cannot believe the difference in my skin......Especialy with the night cream...Moisturiser Plus.....when I wake up in the morning my skin feels lovely and soft not as dehydrated as it used to feel...and the eye cream has done wonders for me too!!

where do you get that from isabel?

I sell Nimue hun! It is really good!
It is a professional product so you would need to buy it from a salon!

Designer Nails are the Distributors...give Leeds a call 0113 2755719 and they will transfer you through to the very helpful girls at Nimue....and they should be able to give you details if there is a Beauty salon in your area that sells the range.....

We stock it in our salon in Glasgow, but I think that is a bit far for you!!

I have used every skincare product over the years..Lancome, clinique Dermalogica.....but these products are the ones I can actually see & feel a difference with...and believe me they do have a lot of work to do !!!

Sassy Hassy also stocks and uses Nimue products.........HTH

ok thanks hun I will get onto that later on.

I use Moisture on Call by Clinque

..and it must be working as most of my clients dont think i look my age...:o
