Hi ladies as you all know I'm new to all this, iv got all my kit and polishes iv gone with Ink London as that's what i trained with, but just wondering what other people use and what is a good gel polish? Xx

Hi Laura, glad to see you're getting lots of support and ideas, it's all really scary and exciting in equal parts

Gel Polish recommendations is about as easy as food recommendations....everyone wants something different, every client is different, there is no 'one size fits all' option but you can find the best one to suit as many as possible. I have found, and genuinely believe that in the nail business you get what you pay for, buy cheap products, get cheap results and cheap clients. Buy wisely, know your worth, know you clients worth and know your trade and you will be ok. At your point in your career and business right now I'd stick with INK, you've trained with them, you know their products, get some experience and clients under your belt, discover what you need to know about how a product behaves, what you want from it, what you can make it do, or not do. Then you can go experimenting and hunting for other options, to fill in any gaps your service. You can't do that yet if you don't know what you don't know. INK is a good product, fairly new to the market and growing well.

You have a wealth of information on here, your next step is to explore the search option, I guarantee every question you have right now has been asked before, probably many many times, so grab a coffee and hit the research trail. This site has been around since about 2003 there's lots of stuff in there, tips, tricks, company recommendations, pros and cons to products, training and everything inbetween including 'ping pong nails' (now if you find that thread I'll know you've been doing your homework :p;) )

Enjoy

Yes absolutely go, it's your duty to keep up to date with the changes, innovations and products in your industry, you will see and hear about those in trade magazines, get subscribed to Scratch Magazine asap, and at the Trade Shows. I've been to a show probably every 3/4 years, I don't go every year anymore. But the first few were a revelation and a shock. Definitely worth a visit.
