High lift with 12%

Definitely highlift but then it depends what brand of either...if youre using suppliers own bleach powder against a top brand highlift with conditioning technology then the bleach would most likely damage more

I agree and depends on the level of lift required aswell. You would have to leave the beach on for much longer to achieve the same lift as the high lift with 12% especially if its a cheap brand

Highlift tint, but then again bleach, hmmm tricky one, both can be over processed. For me personally I love to bleach and tone as a two step process because I find with Highlift tints are too warm :)

This is where I'd say bleach now, as matrix new ultra blondes allow you to drop down to 9% getting a lot slower and cleaner lift with maximum Toning :) and with added cera oil complex they condition as they lift

Thanks for your replies! i guess it depends on clients hair etc then. Im only asking because my hair is a natural base 8 and i have in the past had a full head of wella 12/0 with 12% for 50 mins with hardly any damage, if any! anyway my hair is now a lot shorter and i just have hi lights, and i am wanting to go blonder again, i recentley used bleach and 3% foils thinking it would cause less damage, after about 20 mins my hair had started to loose elasticity and was beggining to stretch! obviously i took the bleach off and applied reconstructer and my hair is in lovely condition, just really supprised me!

Used a few and gonna use ulv.+ on
Mine next week :) there are fab!!

Highlift tint is more damaging because of the peroxide & lifting properties. Pre-lightener & 3% will lift the hair slowly & steadily. Wella recommend using this for colour changes & it definitely gives more conditioning elements to the hair!

Tommie Gleed i thought the same until i used bleach and 3 and my hair started deteriorating, and with hi lift and 12% hair felt fine afterwards :S

I'd say both can be equally as bad, which will have heat, processing times etc... But if it's possible to get the level of lift you want with bleach and 3, then I'd say that's best.
I tried changing up my routine, I used to bleach and 12 twice for 45 mins in one day, so I tried bleach for one application and high lift to finish it off but in my case I'm too dark to lift this way so I'm still on bleach ad 12 until I decide I might go back to my natural level 2 xoxo
