I have a salon and a beauty therapist working for me. I do the hair. One of my clients had a price list, and booked in for a mini facial, because thats what she has usually had done where she used to go. So, she had it done, and afterwards, she said to me, it was different from what she'd usually had done. She said usually her mini facial includes cleanse, tone and moisturise (which is what ours does) then exfoliation, a mask and a face, neck head and shoulder massage. Now, looking at our price list, that is wheat is our deluxe facial! I looked into it a lot before we printed price lists, but now I feel a bit insecure, she said she had this treatment and it took 45 minutes, and it was £15 (which is what our mini facial costs). Our deluxe is £35. can someone help me with what you usually do? I feel like because beauty isn't my field I didn't know what to say, she wasn't complaining but just saying it wasn't what she expected.

My facial is

cleanse, tone, exfoliate, massage, mask and massage, moisturiser and eye cream.
It takes 60-70 mins.

If someone books in for a mini treatment, I cut down on the massage and takes 30 mins.

I dont believe there are set rules as to what a mini facial ect. should be... it differs from salon to salon.

I offer a 30min facial(mini) which includes cleansing, exfoliation with steam,a quick masque and I massage the moisteriser in until its absorbed.

60 min facial: as 30 min facial plus extractions and massage

90 min facial: as 60 min facial plus brow and lash tint as well as brow, lip, and chin wax.

I just do a mni or full facial, my facials differ some take longer thn the others due to masks having to be on longer etc ao i charge more for that,

Mini - cleanse, exfoliate, mask, handand arm or foot massage while mask on, moisturise, eye cream, £14

Full - cleanse, exfoliate, 20 min massage, mask, hand and arm or foot massage, eye cream, from £26

hope this helps

Sorry to sound pedantic, but is your tone not in the wrong place Ann?

I do mine just before moisturiser.

no, I tone pretty much throughout.
I tone to remove excess product.
so cleanse, tone, second cleanse, tone, exfoliate, remove with mitts, and tone, massage, mask and massage, remove with mitts, tone, moisturise.

So what did you think I mean't Jmel?

Well you just had it at the beginning after cleanse, which obviously would have been wrong!
No, not wrong, just assumed that everyone realised that toning was done throughout.

Well jmel at my first college i was taught to do it cleanse, tone, exfoliate, and so on.. which obvs as u said completely wrong and it was a very good college

second college i learnt u tone to bring back the natural ph of the skin so i do it after every time i've used water aka after every diff product apart from moisturiser.

woah! Calm down! Didn't say you were wrong - just said that it would have been wrong the way you had written it.

But you've explained what you really meant now so it's all cool.

Bonkers college teaching that way lol.

I know what you mean about toning after every product but it's really not necessary. You only really have to do it before you moisturise. It won't cause any harm to tone more, but it's really just wasting product.

I am perfectly calm thanks.

Mini or express facial 30mins - Clease , tone , exfoliate, a qiuck mask and moisture ,eye cream . No massage , but it up to you what you want.
Depend on your facial company, I know that Decleor that do 1hr (normal) & 1 1/4 hr (delux)facials.:)

I only tone at the end, before moisturising. It is generally the product houses that encourage you to tone, tone, tone, because they are selling you the product and they want you to use more of it. If you think about the purpose of the product, I agree, it is really only necessary at the end of the treatment before the moisturiser.
