Hi
I have just done my Shellac certificate, I currently only have 4 colours Hot Chilli's , Gotcha, Beau and Studio White. I want to buy some more
Colours but don't want to go crazy - so please help me out and tell me which 5 Shellac colours would you not be without.
Thanks
Julia

Also what pink do people do their French with?

I have the beau to do the French with as it's a bit pinker than negligee...

So you've got colours for French and a pink and a red so this is good :)

I don't have lots of colours so when I buy a colour I try not to buy similar ones. It depends on your client base but a black, blue, green, purple and glitter would be good maybe for a more adventurous client base but if it's an older client base maybe some browns, neutrals and more pinks and reds.

I also use nail foils with the existing colours I've got because it gives me more variety (albeit of the metallic kind!) without it being as expensive as buying separate shellac colours.

Ok. I just bought the intro kit but I'm planning in buying 10 more colours or so to start out mobile!
Can't remember what comes in the kit to be honest lol

It's fedora, wildfire, cream puff and negligee in the intro kit x

I would buy Masquerade, Tropix, Blackpool, Grapefruit Sparkle, Blush Teddy or a red like Wildfire if I had to buy 5. You can use Grapefruit sparkle to layer over all of these and your other pink's and it gives you another few colours instantly.

Oh yeah! Thanks for that! Ok so now to pick 10 more... It's hard cos I end up choosing all the ones I like!

I forgot to say I also have Zillionaire...I am just getting started to that's why I don't want to go crazy to start - just want a good selection of colours x

My most popular colours are Wildfire, Masquerade, Cake Pop, Midnight Swim and Tutti Fruitti. For French, I use Negligee, Beau or Grapefruit Sparkle.

If I had to pick 5 I would probably say Tropix, tutti fruitti, rock royalty, dark lava and wildfire. But I also couldn't be without blush teddy, ruby ritz, and French colours too. :)

Masquerade is a must, Tropix, Wildfire, Lobster Roll, Moonlight & Roses great for layering along with Negligee, Rock Royalty.

For me would have to be:
Cream puff
Negligee
Wildfire
Rubble
Hot pop pink
These r my clients faves x

Ive got...

Lobster roll
Tutti frutti
Beau
Cream puff (or it might be studio white..I forget)
Limeade
Blackpool
Zillionaire

Urrrmmm think that's it :)

I bought the intro kit then have gradually added bit by bit. I also asked ppl as I started doing nails with the colour chart which colours they would be most likely to have if available. Through this I was able to make sure I had a variety. A pink, a coral, a bright red, a deep red ect. Dont forget with additives and layering you can create many more colours. So just get a base to work from and go from there :)

Helen, I was going to buy iced cappuccino, masquerade, grapefruit sparkle, rock royalty, blush teddy and maybe hot pop pink....are these good choices?

I am currently loving Zillionnaire and Iced Cappuccino to layer on other colours to give them a different look/wow factor. work so well over cream colours. I'm also a glitter freak so I've been layering glitters for feature nails <3

Hi hun, the only one I have out of those is Hot Pop pink which is a lovely bright bubble gum pink. I also have Cake Pop which is a creamy opaque pink. Instead of masquerade I have Dark Lava. I have Bare Chemise as my part of my nudes colour. I also have Cocoa which combined with Moonlight & Roses makes a peachy/coraly colour. Also Blue rapture & Wildfire is very popular. I would def recommend buying additive which give you so many possibilities with chanhing effects & colours. Do you have the Shellac colour chart? Hope this helps??
;)

I also forgot to say i originally bought the Shellac collection 3.0 as its 6 bottles and works out cheaper but you may already have some of the colours?

Hi Helen, I have Zillionaire and Studio White that is in the Shellac collection. A lot of people have mentioned wildfire...I have gotcha already, is hot pop pink to similar? I was going to buy a pot of the additives to have a play...I'm struggling because I am trying to pick from a catalogue so I can't see the true colour - do you have a colour chart?
