I've just popped over from beauty :)

My hair used to be so thick I could barely get an elastic band to hold it.... fast forward quite a few years and one baby later and it's still looks ticklish but its at least half gone! I know hair drops when breast feeding but this started before I was pregnant. I notice it drops especially when I put my conditioner on. It happens no matter what brand I use. Does anyone have any tips?

TIA

Normally in day to day life, you lose around 150 hair's a day, but when you become pregnant, you don’t loose the hair you keep it for the whole 9 months, this is because the body thinks it needs all the resources it can get so it holds onto all sorts. Ok so when you’re pregnant your baby takes you of iron and all other kind of nutrients so hair is the first thing to be affected as the body doesn’t need hair to function normally, so breastfeeding will also contribute to your weak hair. I would recommend going to see your GP to see how your iron levels and vitamin levels are, second thing is to get follicle boosting spray like nioxin, it is great! I’ve used it myself and lots of reviews can be found on the web about it, here is a link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nioxin

Third thing is to lay off the heat tools and colouring, and fourth thing I would suggest is going to see a hair-stylist once a week for a volume blow-dry, if this isn’t an option then buy a good mousse before you blow-dry, mousse creates a scaffolding like form around the hair root helping it to appear thicker. If you need any more advice don’t be afraid to PM me :)

I think you covered it all there haha! Some people's hair/nails change as they get older (not calling you old lol) everyone's different! Sometimes it's caused by hormonal/health changes too but as BBH Said buy some mousse to try and thicken up your hair xxx

Thanks so much for your help ladies! my iron was very low as I haemorrhaged after after birth...I will get myself some of the magic spray :)

Mine used to be really thick and is now a lot thiner, I'm not complaining as it looks better now, but after going to see the doctor about being constantly tired it turned out my iron levels were seriously low.
Let's hope yours thickens up with your medication and mine stays as it is xoxo
