Hi Geeks,

I have been doing the 5:2 since May.
I have lost 2 stone since.
It has many health benefits & is supposed to be a way of life rather then an on off diet. I took a break over Christmas (how could I not?!) I find I appreciate food much more & sometimes I find myself looking forward to the fast days!
I normally don't eat anything throughout the day & have a weight watchers meal for dinner. I love dinners so I find this works best for me x

I think I would be the same to be honest as I very rarely eat breakfast anyway, so I think if I drink enough during the day I might be able to manage with just a dinner! Will have to find some 500 calorie meal ideas too :) xx

Weight watchers ready meals are amazing & taste great. You can also buy a 5:2 recipe book that will give you some great meals x

Hey Hun,

I wouldn't recommend heavy exercise. I did go walking on my fast days in the summer. On fast days you can get quite hungry & shakey if your not eating a lot (at least in the beginning) so I fear exercise may make you feel worse.

Also I saw someone ask if you can eat more if you've exercised... I don't think I you can because technically you are exceeding the 500 calories even if you have burnt however many working out x

Really want to do this, it's helping hearing others doing it and losing weight!
May try tomorrow 😱xx

I love this diet, there are so many fasting benefits to your whole body and it gives your digestive system a little 2 day break too.

You definately need to plan your fast days. I'm really looking forward to mine tomorrow. Its like a little break for your digestive system.

Day 1 of fasting today. All went well... I feel like I have been eating all day though as I've been grazing on carrots etc lol. I do have a little headache right now, but I've had a busy day too xxx

What do you eat on your fast days?

Today I had lots...

2 x clementines
100g carrot stick (about 2 carrots chopped up)
2 x celery sticks chopped up
Belvita breakfast biscuits
Bowl of ceral
Bag of snack a jacks

I save all my calories for dinner, I use herbal eas to get me through the day then have a 400-500 calorie dinner, Yesterday I had a home made veg soup with small roll it came to 459 tomorrow I'm making a pizza on a wrap which comes to around 400 cals. I also make a jug of flat tummy water. There is a really good 5:2 page on facebook which is full of recipes.

What's the recipe for the flat tummy water?

My problem is I don't like hot drinks or soup or anything like that. Not that much veg I like either haha. Xxx

6 cups of water
Half cucumber sliced
Whole lemon sliced
Teaspoon of ginger sliced or grated
Hand full of mint leaves
Leave to infuse overnight and drink whole jug the next day. The ginger lowers your appetite, the lemon detoxes, the mint soothes and I have no idea what the cucumber does.

Ive just joined the 5.2 forum and some great advice on there, gave me the inspiration to start today and im HUNGRY already:eek:xx

I had a fast day yesterday! I had a 72 calorie fruit pot for lunch and then drunk sooo much water which kept me full. Then I had homemade beef and vegetable stew which was about 200 calories and my nan had made an apple crumble!!!! So I can the smallest bit of that ever which was a lovely treat to end the day and in total I had just under 500 calories!
Woke up starving this morning though and I'm never hungry in the morning lol.
Being really good rest of the days though and still calorie counting using my fitness pal. I'm aiming for about 1200 calories a day but not panicking too much if I go over :)
I'm wanting to lose about 6lb but change my eating habits completely!

Well done everyone!
It's lovely for everyone to share ideas :)
Kayleigh xx
